So does anyone know why I crash when trying to install a 64x pack? I'm convinced it's a problem with the patcher, because I've been playing with a 64x fine for quite a while.
I realize it's in beta, but it would be nice if i could at least find out how to fix it, I don't even get an error log from it. :/
You could try increasing the Java heap size using the patcher's Options panel... from what I've seen, it allows Minecraft to use more of the available memory, in order to use higher-res packs.
How high should i raise it? Currently it's at 1024.

EDIT: And after the crash, my sound is screwed up. Have it on max and can barely hear anything.
Hm. My sound's always been very quiet... Try a system restart to try and fix the sound (usually reloading the sound drivers manually will work too). If you're getting no error log, I think there's something in the OP about running Minecraft from a command prompt, which guarantees an error log. If not, it should be run with something like this (you'll need the .jar version of the launcher) "java -jar MinecraftLauncher.jar -Xms1024"
I'm a failure with computers so i have no idea what you just said. D:
this crap ****ed up my game
reinstalling doesnt help
dont use it
you did something wrong... just because you screwed up, don't tell people not to use it. I wonder why it works for the thousands of people using it already? hmmm?

Riiiight... couldn't possibly be an error on your part.
But, if you're really right, why is it working for the rest of us?

Hi, unlike most of these idio-... I mean... geniuses, I got it to work just fine. I do have one question, this may be a mistake on the texture pack's side, but when I opened the file it looked fine. The thing is, in game, cobblestone steps are partially blacked out like the texture's missing. I opened the file and the stairs look fine but in game they are messed up. Any ideas?

it's a glitch with the lighting system..and it only seems to happen on certain graphics settings..and to random people..
This happens when i select LB Photo Realism x256 4.0.0 ( x64 works fine but... )

Curse Premiumif you are using the 256x version..you probably cant run it... go into options.txt in your .minecraft folder and change the skin to default.
*EDIT
Fixed! I just disable the custom animations and it's fine now :smile.gif:
How high should i raise it? Currently it's at 1024.
