In theory, yes. Change the redstone torch on/off texture that's in the /block folder, then, by using a FIx-Method CTM, change the texture of the minecraft blocks 'minecraft:redstone_torch' & 'minecraft:unlit_redstone_torch'

(koo-star-neek) The real numbers are countable and I CAN prove it. Cantor was wrong!
EDIT: Nevermind, discovered the issue was the source location of the assets was set to wrong spot, it's all working now Just needed to fiddle with it a bit more.
Is anyone else having issues with Better Skies with the 14w11b snapshot? I'm using Derivation and as far as I can see there hasn't been any changes mcpatcher wise that changed formatting of properties files, etc. I can't seem to get it to work with any version of minecraft using mcpatcher 4.3.2 or higher (with the correct corresponding version of MC)
how do i install forge mods with it
is it the same as non forge mods
It is NOT the same. But in the Original Post it explains how to install Forge Mods.
It explains how to do it under the "Installing Forge, FML, and/or LiteLoader with MCPatcher" spoiler
I have a problem. I'm trying to make most of the textures in my pack look natural, so I basically create few similar looking textures and use method=random to randomize them. I also have a specific textures for button and pressure plate but it does not work if there's an already existing CTM for the texture this button/pressure plate uses normally.
For example, if I have connected gold block texture, gold pressure plate uses this one instead of using one I intended it to use. If I remove connected gold texture it will work. Is there a way to have both? That would be awesome! I prefer my gold and iron CTMs to pressure plates, but I'd rather have stone buttons and plates than natural stone. That would also come in handy if I wanted to do natural planks in the future.

I'm a little lost, could you give a tut on the CTM Random beds? That would be great.
I know Kahr hardly ever responds to posts on here (especially considering the sheer volume), but I have an idea for a feature which should be quite easy to implement.
A better pumpkinblur which reacts depending on what item is on the head. It would basically work like any other CTM or CIT properties file, except the parameters are the data value (or lack of) of the helmet and the image which is used as the blur.
It would make things like this possible without having to wear a pumpkin.

If you want me to create an example pack for you I can.
I have corollary question. Is there a way to do random beds and more particulary random doors so that the you get matching head and foot, or what I want matching top and bottom?

Can you do Random beds & doors? Yes
Can you get Random beds & doors & have them match them? No, not likely

My question was unclear and you I think answered yes, to the question I was really asking. Sorry for the confusion. I will re-ask clearly.
Is there a way I can get random full doors? Not just random tops and randoms bottoms (I know how that is done), but a random top plus the matching bottom.

@kwerti, probably. I haven't even started to look into block models yet, so I'll assume that what you said is causing it.
@Alvoria, I know right
Updated? No
Does it still support 1.7.9? Yes
Okay, well, 1.7.9 is not in MC Patcher's version list.

You have to have a 1.7.9 profile in your Minecraft Launcher first before you can select 1.7.9 from the 'Game Version' in MCPatcher
No problem, happy to help:)
my mac can't update cuase it's old. the highest update i can possibly get is 10.5.8
and once again i have no clue what that means
is it the same as non forge mods
On your mac.. Mac HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
When you load that, type java -version (then press enter)
It should show the version of java you have installed, if it doesn't.. then there is a problem with your java installation
What version does it say?

I have a 1.7.9 profile, but 1.7.9 is not showing up in MCP's version list. I've closed it down and restarted it four times, and nothing's changed.
Edit: Issue resolved. I had to run the game first before 1.7.9 showed up in MCP's version list.
Oh sorry I forgot to say you had to run it. I could of sworn I put it in there ?:/

Sorry for some reason it didn't show the other ends of the properties.
