Does anybody know if there's a way to keep the original weather effects? Or would that depend on the texture pack itself? My system has trouble when it rains and my frame rate drops to about 5. Using LB photo realism 64x64 pack, and Misa's and used the newsest version of MCPatcher. Thanks in advance!
I have a problem. I'm using a texture pack I mixed together from other texture packs. The base of it is Gerudoku 1.5_01 compatible, which Lil_(something) updated. And I used a different Doku texture pack to mix in. When I use the patcher etc, I put the .zip archive into the texture packs folder to load up, and the picture is just a gray version of the default, and when I click on it, it's just the default pack. What do I do?
EDIT: I'm stupid, I accidentally archived the folder into a .zip, instead of JUST the files IN the folder. Sorry for posting.
Your texture pack is zipped inside another folder. Don't zip the folder, just zip all the files within. Your top-level directory in the archive should not be just a single folder.

Yeah, I accidentally did it AGAIN. X.X How do I only zip the files in the folder, and not the folder itself? It keeps automatically doing it.
Another thing, if I look at the original texture pack(Which works) it is zipped up in a folder, then goes to the textures, just like I did. Why does that work and mine doesn't?
Nevermind, it appeared that way. Still wondering above question.
EDIT: I did it, sorry for the questions. :tongue.gif:

I really don't understand what the hell you're talking about
I had the same problem as Sweet Ride with the texture pack I'm making
My folder looks like this
I'd just been zipping the main folder "Test 2" for everything and trying to run that, I just get default. It worked with the old patcher though. All the texture packs I have are .zip, what do you mean don't zip the folder? O_o You can't run just a folder...
Are you saying I should .zip every single file and folder inside of this folder and then zip the folder? I am so confused.
well for me the hd font to checkmark shows p but hd texture pack does not so please help. ps: the hd texture pack is there but its grey and uncheackable
Are you saying I should .zip every single file and folder inside of this folder and then zip the folder? I am so confused.
No, I'm saying that when you open the .zip file, the first thing you see should NOT be just a single folder named "test2". You should see folders for armor/gui/items/misc/mobs and so forth, as well as standalone files like terrain.png .
The problem almost always comes when people making or editing a texture pack zip the entire folder rather than just the contents. In other words, select all files inside the folder, right click and zip them. Then name the new zip whatever you want the pack to be called. Do NOT just zip the Test2 folder, or all your files will be nested inside a folder inside the .zip and it won't work.

i love this. I have been a long time user of the last version, and this one is way better. i love how i can select from multiple packs in game. keep up the good work.
*Edit - @Kahr - Could it be resizing because the water file is a larger than 32x32 resolution file? (should be 32x1024 for the water..as a generic size for that file)
Well, this is the key part of the log:
opened /terrain.png 256x256 from MixcraftHDCustom.zip
So the game definitely thinks it is 16x16. BlacKnight339, are you sure your terrain.png is in the right place in the zip? It should be in the root, not the terrain folder.
Yes, it is within the root, which always confused me a bit. The patcher still isn't working.
I'll try deleting custom_water_still, because the size is a bit weird, as stated by Gestankfaust.
Edit: That didn't do it. This is getting extremely confusing. My head is beginning to hurt.
Terrain.png is in the right place, and is indeed 512x512. So, as such, it should work, right? It just doesn't seem to want to...

thanks, it worked!
but it made my items all weird...
The old patcher resized the 16px items just fine...

Thanks! I was having the exact same problem with my pack. But everything's working fine now. :biggrin.gif: Awesome patcher Kahr!

Properly Zipping a Texture Pack
There's an FAQ question on the OP that is similar to this, but It doesn't say anything about no error log appearing.
This only started happening now, I've been running 64x64 packs for quite a while now with no problem, but all the sudden this happens.
EDIT: And after the crash, my sound is screwed up. Have it on max and can barely hear anything.
