I have a problem with random mobs for version 1.6.2+ It is not the first time i am using random mobs but i cant figure it out why it doesnt work! I read all notes you made about random mobs but the truth is i am really bad at understanding code and such stuff and i don't know what i am making wrong. I have a texture pack that adds more wolf and cat textures but all the single textures work but where i have more textures it doesn't work! I made my texturpack from files assets/minecraft/textures/entity/wolf/ and than multiple wolf textures from wolf1.png and so on with wolf_tame1 and wolf_angry1 all to wolf11.
I patched MC for 1.6.2 and for 1.6.3 and used the version 1.6.2-mcpatcher in minecraft but nothing.
Could you please help me and tell me what i am making wrong so i can post my texture pack/resource pack as soon as posible!
Hope you don't mind if I jump in and help you with this one since Kahr is a super-busy dude.
First, you shouldn't have a "1" variety. The default, unnumbered version is your "1", so you should have wolf.png, wolf2.png, wolf3.png and so forth.
Second, with 1.6 the files are in a bit of a different place. In previous versions of RM, you had them in the same folder as the defaults. This is no longer the case.
For example, the wolf.png file should be in the folder you specified (same as default), but all the numbered versions (wolf2.png, wolf3.png, etc.) should be in "/[packName]/assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/mob/wolf/". See the difference?
Is there any current way in better skies to let the moon not be covered by stars and keep the phases?
If your starfield is of the none-moving variety, meaning you haven't got it rotating in a different direction to the path of the moon, just make a black circle of 'nothingness' of the same diameter as the moon as it would appear on your better skies starfield.
Have a look at my better skies starfield for an example of how to do this and where the center of the moon will normally appear. I prefer to make the moon 'silhouette' (the bit where your don't want the stars to appear) a little larger than the moon, rather than exactly the same size. Stars appearing right up against the edge of the moon don't look right, imho.
The possibility of increased efficiency is there, but the likelihood isn't so much.
Chances are MCPatcher support will continue to be mandatory in my version upgrade choices.
Keep up the great work staying well ahead of the Minecraft curve, Kahr.
The update itself isn't out yet, no indication yet as to when it will be, but there is a pre-release that was made available last Friday. Since not much was changed (just a couple bug fixes), MCPatcher's compatible with it, and may well stay that way when the update is released.
So... would it be possible for me to bribe someone into bringing back better grass? Yes, I realize that optifine has it, but I dont like optifine. And I like the MCpatcher version of better grass better than the optifine version anyway.
Also, I found this completely awesome mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1790919-1516forge-carpenters-blocks-v187-slopes-stairs-and-more/ But ctm does not work with it at all. Considering the nature of the mod, it might be impossible for ctm to work with it, but as I am not a coder, I have no idea. Maybe someone could take a look at it and see if its possible? Im willing to bribe someone for this also

Better grass is still there. Except now it's a config option instead of a mod. It's in the Options tab under the Connected Textures section. "Grass block sides (Better Grass)"
You misunderstood my request. I want that XXL overlays every item that is overstackt in the way it overlays the example snowball. XXL is only a transparent texture with the red XXL letters. It would be a pain to create such a texture for every item.
1.Pic= what I wan't to see 2.Pic= what I see 3.Pic= the image I want to use for all items to overlay them
No, I understood you, but I was just saying for the time being you can just making it an item texture instead of an overlay.
I did that, still doesn't work. I remember one time I was using a texture pack and textures were connected and then the next day no more connected textures.
Thanks to a texture artist that suggested me to use MCP, I installed it and am enjoying the tool and the beauty of resource pack I'm using. Thank you Kahr.
I'd like to report a bug. MC 1.6.2 + Forge 858, first with mods and then tested with no mods:
The status effect particles from potions are not rendered from non-player mobs until you reload the world. Doesn't need to close the game.
To reproduce it, throw any potion that generates particles (e.g. poison) at the mobs, the particles are not rendered. To force the game to render the particles, just close the world and reopen it.
It was first reported here, but after a series of tests the bug occurs only with MCPatcher.
There are other 2 issues related the use of MCP with Galacticraft and it might happen with other mods in similar situation. I don't know if it can be fixed in MCP.
1) If a non-player mob touches a custom block that applies a potion effect to that mob, the particles won't wear off unless you reload the world.
2) Galacticraft uses a custom block called Oxygen block. This block is used to fill airtight rooms to keep players alive in the space. It's intangible and transparent, not supposed to render the sides when facing another block, but in MCP the sides are rendered translucent and yields some weird effects when we place any transparent block (iron bars, glass panes, flower pot, levers) next to the glass walls.
A room without and with Oxygen block filling the room:

Other examples:
Any idea how to sort it out? Is it the mod or MCP?

I can bet you its the mod. because I dont think it can make that there is and a block and oxygen on one space.

I dont think it can make that there is and a block and oxygen on one space.
Two blocks can't occupy the same spot, sure. But I don't need oxygen blocks occupying everywhere, I just want them not to render. They are supposed to be invisible as well as the glass walls aren't supposed to have a blue tint, they are transparent (except by the decorative pixels), as I said:
It's intangible and transparent, not supposed to render the sides when facing another block (...) but in MCP the sides are rendered
The empty space is filled with the oxygen block, if a spot has another block (e.g. a flower pot or a glass plane), the oxygen block won't occupy there. Okay, this is intended. The problem is that, my guess, MCP is rendering the sides of a transparent block, then the space filled with oxygen is tinted with a blueish color while the spot occupied by another element (therefore, no oxygen block) is not tinted with blueish color (you can tell this by looking at the glass wall in the 5th and 6th pics). If I don't use MCP, the oxygen block is not rendered, this is what was supposed to happen.
Since minecraft can't overlap more than 2 transparent planes, if I place a glass plane next to glass wall, holes will appear in the glass wall.
No MCP:
With MCP (you can spot the blue tint around the glass plane, it's the oxygen block being rendered):

Hey I am using the new snapshots (13w37b for ex) and I am using texturepacks. I want to ask is it possible to use MCpatcher ? At least for the ctm and block randomizer ? Or if no what should I use ? Is there anyting compatible with the new snapshots ? I also want ot ask will MCpatcher be updated for at least the 13w37 snapshot ? Thank you !
If you wanna use anything that makes resource packs better (like MCPatcher or Optifine) you need to wait until 1.7 is officially released, or use 1.6 instead. It will be updated to 1.7, but not to the snapshots.
