I've been having a huge problem. Custom skies simply don't work on any texture pack I have, even though I explicitly select "Better Skies". Why won't they work!!!

@Freso
I tried it with Soartex Fanver and Flows HD. Both offer custom sky textures but they don't work. Everything else does but the sky and I don't undersand why.

I looked in the log and this is why the sky isn't working apparently. I still don't know how to fix this issue.
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky1.properties: source texture minecraft:aurora.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky2.properties: source texture minecraft:stars.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky3.properties: source texture minecraft:galaxies.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky4.properties: source texture minecraft:cloud_atmosphere.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky5.properties: source texture minecraft:sunrise.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky6.properties: source texture minecraft:noon.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky7.properties: source texture minecraft:sunset.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky8.properties: source texture minecraft:depth.png not found
[Better Skies] ERROR: minecraft:mcpatcher/sky/world0/sky9.properties: source texture minecraft:stars2.png not found
What I find strange is that the night sky texture isn't showing up on my other texture pack, but that one isn't getting an error message.

I need some help. I'm using CIT to add more variations of armor in my resource pack. I got the helmet, torso, and boots to work, but the pants wont work at all. Below I will state my config for the torso, which is working, and the pants, which aren't. Also a picture of what the pants are glitching to be:
Will the H+v/v+h methods ever support the top and bottom textures? I understand why horizontal doesn't, but could it be possible to make H+v do it, or is it just a limitation of the method?
(I just hope I'm not the 20th person to ask this!)

Moomoomoo3O9, (Moomoomoo THREE O NINE, NOT ZERO!) Redstone Wirerer. I also make Dokucraft Textures!
I might be the only one having this issue, and it's kinda minor but warrants bringing up anyway, but for some reason with 4.2.0 the Better Grass setting doesn't work anymore. It is ticked in the patcher and CTM is active too, but it doesn't seem to apply at all.
It's possible that MCPatcher isn't able to find its configuration file for some reason. Do you have Minecraft installed in a non-standard directory? Is there any difference when you use the game launcher vs. Test Minecraft?
I never had this problem before but I clicked run mcpatcher and it just keeps saying "Getting version list from s3.amazonaws.com.." And it wont do crap. I literally cant do anything and click on anything while its doing this. And it wont get the damn list.
Proxy server? Try the workaround I gave Xyphere in this post.
Um,does anyone know how to MAtmos & Presence footsteps to work with MCPatcher? I installed the correct version of Forge, I patched the .jar, & I extracted the MAtmos & Footstep files to the mods folder. Yet it still doesn't work. It's hard to play without MAtmos.
I was able to get both working. For Forge you extract the files into .minecraft/mods. For ModLoader I think it's the versions directory. If that's not the problem double-check that you're running version 1.6.2-mcpatcherforge or whatever you've called it.
idk if this bug pertains to MCPatcher, but I was playing MC the earlier today with no problems at all...then I go off to check my e-mail and watch a few youtube videos. When I got back on...MC kept crashing saying something about an invalid session ID. Nothing changed in MC since i got off last, so I have no idea what caused the invalid session ID, so I was hoping someone here would know...
Are you using Test Minecraft or the launcher? Try the launcher, and log out and log back in if it still doesn't work.
This is working for me. Make sure that names really do match including case and no extra spaces at the end of the line, either in the item name or the properties file.
This is frustrating because Kahr has already stated what the issue is. Many things have changed between 1.4.x and 1.6, so don't expect what worked well in one to work well in the other. The Mo' Jang folks like to mess with the modding community like that. :|
Kahr already told you how you can fix your latter problem - and it's hard to fix an issue that happens without MCPatcher patches in the MCPatcher patches. Even if OptiFine's somehow got a magical fix for it. Compare to vanilla Minecraft if you wish to report bugs with MCPatcher, not a modded game.
Look. MC Patcher used to render things properly. So did Optifine. From 1.4.x to 1.6.x, MC Patcher no longer renders things properly. Optifine still does.
The problem lies with MC Patcher. It does not perform properly as it did before. Not only with font spacing, but with fonts not appearing on screen in certain instances (ie - Zombe Fly Mod status toggle).
If Kahr chooses not to update his program so that it works with 1.6.x as well as it did with 1.4.x, that's unfortnate, but it's not fair to blame me for pointing out its deficiencies.
The folks at Optifine put in the effort to make it work properly with 1.6.x. Why can't Kahr?
It's up to him at this point. I've done my part. Time to move on.
Is it possible to change grasssides color with a colormap ?
This is a vanilla feature. Edit /minecraft/textures/colormap/grass.png to get this effect. Also, make sure you have your graphics set to "fancy" or else it won't show up. You don't need MCPatcher to do this, btw.
well that was just weird...I removed my mods...(only 2 so it was easy) then hit patch, It worked fine, then I patched in each of my mods one at a time and hit test and it was fine...then after it was all done, and all my mods were patched in and the test went ok...I opened the launcher and it loaded just fine...no idea what caused the invalid session id but it seems to be working now.

Nuh, I don't have Minecraft in some weird directory, it's in the usual .minecraft folder under AppData (for my OS that is). As far as using Test Minecraft VS the launcher, there's no difference, with both of them Better Grass isn't functioning.
I seem to be having problems with the CIT naming. The issues only occur when I try to specify that the item to be retextured is only when its name is colored. For example:
That changes the texture correctly, to the one it should be.
But, our server has a plugin called Lores, which allows us to change names. So I name my in game sword "&4&oKazir" to get Kazir (to that effect). The issue is that this:
Does not show the unique texture I made for it. Until I can figure out how to use these name color things proper, I can't create all the textures that my roleplay server wishes me to. Help is appreciated, thanks.

My guess is the session ID got "stale" somehow and logging in again with the launcher refreshed it.

Have you changed any other settings like mipmapping, and if so are those not working either? Trying to figure out if none of the settings are working or if it's specific to Better Grass.
It seems this works for some people but not others. Apparently it depends on the character encoding your editor uses to save the properties file. Java expects ISO-8859-1, but editors commonly save as UTF-8.
So to avoid the problem altogether, use the escape sequence '§' instead:
nbt.display.Name=§4§oKazir
I'll add a note about this to the sample cit_single.properties file.
MCPatcher is a standalone tool. It is not installed anywhere. To uninstall it, just delete the MCPatcher file you downloaded and remove the MCPatcher profile from your launcher.

I don't mean the grassoverlay
I want to change the color of dirt
Ah, in that case, the answer appears to be "no". The Custom Colors instructions specifically say it doesn't work for any block that already has its own color overlay. Sorry.
@Kahr: I was wondering if you'd given any more thought to the issues with enchantment effects being applied to worn armor. I'm about half way through a wonky kind of work around, and I'm wondering if I'll be throwing it all out for an actual fix. Any news or advice?

Looks like a texture pack problem. Try editing the properties files:
sky1.properties:
etc., for the others.
source=aurora.png is actually looking for assets/minecraft/aurora.png.

Disaster averted I hope.

MCPatcher is a standalone tool. It is not installed anywhere. To uninstall it, just delete the MCPatcher file you downloaded and remove the MCPatcher profile from your launcher.
If you log in once on the MCPatcher profile using the launcher, it should "stick" in the Test Minecraft button also.
That worked, thank you! Love this feature in your mod.

That way anything named "&fBeer" or "&fAle" in plain white text will receive the texture.

ModeratorJust use multiple properties files. It's not like they take up that much space.
