Hey all! So I've noticed that when I add certain files to my CTM, it causes my FPS to plummet to ~1 FPS. Toggling CTM off then on again seems to fix this issue, oddly enough. If I remove the culprit file, the FPS issue disappears. This is an example of a file that causes the FPS to drop. Can anyone tell if I've done something wrong with my properties, configuration? I'm running Spoutcraft version 1.5.2 build 2040
If you look at the history of the thread there's usually one or two people who take this role. It's the same for any mod, really. A couple of experienced users will help all of the new people. After a while one of the veterans gets bored or goes AFK or goes to another mod, and someone else picks it up. It's an interesting cycle that I've noticed that's kinda unique to this particular forum.
Also, considering how much I've been bugging Kahr about CIT bugs recently, helping people on his thread is really the least I can do.

hhhmmm this is odd, if you give me your WHOLE Texture/Resource Pack I could Find the reason better. As I would have all the files & see if it's because of texturing issues or not.
For my case, some times ago I usually answered for post since it was a development state for MCPatcher, now I'm really focused on the creation of some MCPatcher mods that would help a lot of peoples, but I'm must learn a lot about java for that.
The main ideas are :
1) BUGFIX : Fix a lot of "mathematical" mistakes mojang does that affect rendering
2) CGT ( Custom Gui Texture ) : Like CIT but for all in-game gui depending to their name (make difference between dropper and dispenser, have different trading gui depending to villager type and name, have custom textures for named chest, dropper, dispenser, furnace, have custom inventory for horses depending to their names and if their have chest and/or a special type of armor, different inventory depending to player name pattern)
3) AUID ( Anti Update Information Destruction ) : This would change a lot of things to keep information if they are invalid, mainly it should keep blocks, entities and tile entities that don't exist in your current version but exist in another and show them whenever they don't exist in that version:
- all non-existent blocks should be bedrock with the majenta/black texture, Like the Locked chest, blocks could be textured with CTM, so it would let you add so many decorative blocks for mapmakers.
- all non-existent tile-entities should be bedrock with the magenta/black texture, they should keep their informations
- all non-existent entities should be box without motion with the magenta/black texture, they should keep their in formations and be considered as mobs (if information are not available it should use hard-coded values) : so in case creeper are accidentally removed for example, they should not be removed but replaced by black/magenta box in your current world, and then, if they are re-added, you should see them working like before.
It would be possible to do a pick block on these to have a copy of these non-existent elements with all data keept and let you place them like normal blocks, tile entities, and mobs.
4) ACTM ( Advanced Connected Texture Mod ) : would allow adding a CIT nbt type rule for tile entities (blocks that can't handle nbt data couldn't work, I can't change that) but this would let use some blocks like (Dispenser,Note Block,Monster Spawner, Furnace, Signs, Jukebox ...) I don't know for the moment what is really possible and what informations is really send to the client.
It's not really possible for me to update my texture pack since I don't have motivation to continue it, since some copy it and continue it without my permission and have more success than mine ... so I can't look and try exactly what is possible with new MCPatcher updates or new modifications done by other don't interest me like before ...
That's a nice idea. I would love to test it for you
You can use MCPatcher to reduce the memory usage of Minecraft. Does anyone know how to do this without MCPatcher?
Also does anyone know how to change the random name that you get when clicking on "Test Minecraft" from Player123 (numbers are random) to a default name?
Be sure to use a texture pack that use better glass, without that texture pack, it should be normal glass, mine use it, but also Misa and somes that been post here before .
Oh, I assumed mcpatcher came with those texture packs, my bad.
Are those lists of mods just examples?

No, can't change the name MCPatcher gives you when you use "Test Minecraft". There should be a to limit how much memory Minecraft uses in the launcher. Try under the "Edit Profile" tab.(I can't test it, because I'm on a different computer that doesn't have mInecraft on it).
Do I have to change a setting within the game or something? I patched it. I used Test and I even setup a profile on the launcher to launc the mcpatch jar and I still see the normal glass.
I put on the Grass blck sides in the Options menu and that worked, but not the panes.
Here's a log of me unpatching then patching then using Test to launch the game and go into a world and see that the nicer grass blocks work but not the glass panes. In options, panes is checked. http://pastebin.com/FM0JNgSr

I just tried that and could not get it to work. I assume it goes in the arguments spot but I mustn't be typing it correctly
Hey guys, I have a question to the Custom Item Textures ... they don't work properly ...
Ok, I have a picture called holysword.png, which is showing a sword
I want that Image, if a diamond sword is called "Holy Sword" in golden letters, that means, the exact name should be "§6Holy Sword" or, with using Unicode, "\u00A76Holy Sword"
Why would you use Unicode? Minecraft doesn't seem to understand that. Just use the "§" character.
Note that I haven't tested this, mainly because there's no way to get the "§" in vanilla Minecraft, so I have no clue if it'll actually work or not.

You MUST have a Texture/Resource Pack that has Better Glass or CTM for Glass blocks & panes. MCPatcher doesn't work like Optifine in the sense that, MCPatcher doesn't include the textures for the glass. You MUST have a texture/resource pack that includes either Better Glass or CTM for glass(I can't tell which one you're talking about.)

I want that Image, if a diamond sword is called "Holy Sword" in golden letters, that means, the exact name should be "§6Holy Sword" or, with using Unicode, "\u00A76Holy Sword"
Therefore, I've prepared a holysword.properties file, which is the following:
Now remember, it will ONLY work if the Name is the EXACT SAME as listed in the ".properties" file. But anyways I have tried this & got it to work, so the above code, I know, works.
most texture packs i try to use with MCpatcher the water is frozen, doesnt move. what is this?
Ice?
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Two things: First, what mods do you have installed apart from MCPatcher? There may be a conflict.
Second, can you tell me which packs in particular you're having trouble with. I can check it out to make sure it's not a problem with the pack. Alternately, I know Sanity is working with MCPatcher, so you can try it to see if it's a problem unique to your setup of if it's a problem with the other packs you're using.
Mmxtr idea is great! I would love to use the
Last idea with the data, so you can make juke box with
Disks for each data, also, I have an idea, you can make
Blocks that have snow above them be different, example
If there is snow on a stoneblock, it will have snow in the sides and etc
And another ideas is, better sounds, like, if there is bat above
Y 64 it will make a bird sounds and if there is a creeper in snow biome it will make different sounds, maybe add more calm sounds, and random sounds
And things like that
no mods. and it happens on dandelion pack, feathersong, steelfeathers enchanted. the one that works (but has hideous water) is fortune and glory.
Yea, it's the packs you're using. I think it's just checked Feathersong and for some reason Lady Steelfeathers doesn't have proper animations set up for it. She has an animation strip, but it doesn't seem to actually seem to do anything other than repeat the same thing over and over again. I'm not sure why.
The fact that one pack works for you means that it's not MCPatcher. Politely ask pack artists about getting their animations in order.
Since MC Patcher seems to have issues properly displaying fonts in texture packs (at least for me) I have been sort of forced to use Optifine. I'm finding that while it may not be as 100% smooth in above ground flying around (Zombe fly mod), it is much, much smoother in the Nether.
Guess I never would have really known about that if it had not been for the issues with MC Patcher and 1.6.x.
I still look forward to MC Patcher being updated and hopefully fixing the problem. I'm just not sure if and when that may happen.
What is the format for a cit bow texture? I've got it to replace the standby texture but when I draw it the other frames are not replaced. I've looked at the format on the OP and copied it all into one file however it still only replaces the standby texture. Can someone help?

Is this not right? I click on Test to launch it after I click Patch and I still don't see the new glass skin or anything.

ModeratorInstead of clicking Test, go to the Minecraft launcher and set up a proper profile with 1.6.2-mcpatcher as your environment. That should do it.
Also does anyone know how to change the random name that you get when clicking on "Test Minecraft" from Player123 (numbers are random) to a default name?

No, it applies to all Mods MCPatcher has.

I really would hope that this bug gets fixed. Thanks

You don't use Unicode. Just include the "§" symbol, just like Alvoria said. So the code should look like thisNow remember, it will ONLY work if the Name is the EXACT SAME as listed in the ".properties" file. But anyways I have tried this & got it to work, so the above code, I know, works.
