TO ALL THAT ARE HAVING THE PROBLEM OF SELECTING THEIR CUSTOM TEXTURE PACK BUT IT STILL SHOWS UP TO DEFAULT TEXTURES!!!!! LISTEN!!
You can't just select your texture pack folder, then zip it. You have to OPEN THE FOLDER, SELECT ALL OF THE CONTENTS OF YOUR TEXTURE PACK (Which should consist of your terrain.png, and folders such as armor, gui, etc), then zip that into a zipped folder, and use that. You CANNOT just zip one single folder with your texture inside, it has to be the contents themselves.
Please explain this in the first post Xau, it's a common mistake. Thank you.
Okey dokey, so this is starting to really suck now.
Ever since I originally patched my minecraft I can't open up the .jar file. Even when I deleted everything in the roaming folder and in the original folder and reinstalled the game fresh, when I opened up the new jar file (with no patch now) it still says "failed to load Main-Class manifest." I had followed the instructions exactly and now I can't even put my mods into the jar file and play with no patch.
Is my java corrupted? Is there something I am missing when I deleted minecraft and re-installed it? I have checked task manager and java is not running...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am very close to giving up on minecraft altogether...:sad.gif:

Fix this please, I would like to be able to play minecraft.....
a lot of the time when i'm using higher than normal (16*) textures and i go to change the texture pack after playing a world MC crashes , with a out of memory error. moe so when i'm changing up in texterur sizes.
however when i start mc again wverything is working fine with the new texture pack :wink.gif:
so to me its not a show stopper its only a thorn in my side.. lol
other than that everything seems to be working fine with 11 mods installed and mcpatcher beta 4 installed FIRST.. that i think is the key, I then install optomize 303's unofficial version then modloader then zombe's modpack convient inventory, then the rest..
and i'm flipping between about 15 texture packs (all for 1.5+) all different resolutions , costom water etc..
all installed with the default( unaltered mcpatcher settings)
so all i can think is that these people having problems are doing something wrong.
1. fresh minecraft 1.5_01 install
2. run mcpatcher (not adjusting anything) , click patch
3. install other mods into minecraft.jar (in correct order to avoid conflicts .. see individual mods for the correct order to install things.. and post when your having further conflicts in thir threads)
4. start minecraft
6 select tecture pack (if it crashes try restarting minecraft, in all my cases its resterted properly with the selected texturepacks)
7 play minecraft :wink.gif:
8 have fun (profit)

You can change the Java heap size in the Options panel of the patcher. Fiddle with it, both increasing and decreasing it until you can get it to work.

You have mods that are stopping it from working. Most common ones are Zombe's modpack and the Optimine mod. Delete your bin folder and run the Minecraft launcher to redownload the game, then try patching it again.

You can't just select your texture pack folder, then zip it. You have to OPEN THE FOLDER, SELECT ALL OF THE CONTENTS OF YOUR TEXTURE PACK (Which should consist of your terrain.png, and folders such as armor, gui, etc), then zip that into a zipped folder, and use that. You CANNOT just zip one single folder with your texture inside, it has to be the contents themselves.
Please explain this in the first post Xau, it's a common mistake. Thank you.
Ever since I originally patched my minecraft I can't open up the .jar file. Even when I deleted everything in the roaming folder and in the original folder and reinstalled the game fresh, when I opened up the new jar file (with no patch now) it still says "failed to load Main-Class manifest." I had followed the instructions exactly and now I can't even put my mods into the jar file and play with no patch.
Is my java corrupted? Is there something I am missing when I deleted minecraft and re-installed it? I have checked task manager and java is not running...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am very close to giving up on minecraft altogether...:sad.gif:

Retired Staffhowever when i start mc again wverything is working fine with the new texture pack :wink.gif:
so to me its not a show stopper its only a thorn in my side.. lol
other than that everything seems to be working fine with 11 mods installed and mcpatcher beta 4 installed FIRST.. that i think is the key, I then install optomize 303's unofficial version then modloader then zombe's modpack convient inventory, then the rest..
and i'm flipping between about 15 texture packs (all for 1.5+) all different resolutions , costom water etc..
all installed with the default( unaltered mcpatcher settings)
so all i can think is that these people having problems are doing something wrong.
1. fresh minecraft 1.5_01 install
2. run mcpatcher (not adjusting anything) , click patch
3. install other mods into minecraft.jar (in correct order to avoid conflicts .. see individual mods for the correct order to install things.. and post when your having further conflicts in thir threads)
4. start minecraft
6 select tecture pack (if it crashes try restarting minecraft, in all my cases its resterted properly with the selected texturepacks)
7 play minecraft :wink.gif:
8 have fun (profit)

3. install other mods into minecraft.jar {not the backup eg:minecraft 1.5_01.jar} (in correct order and according to their OP pages to avoid conflicts .. see individual mods for the correct order to install things.. and post when your having further conflicts in their threads)
4. start minecraft

PS: none of the mods work on the web browser version of minecraft.. you need to run the standalone
PPS: i'm using windows 7 x86 {32 bit otherwise i'd have stated x64}

Curse PremiumKahr, if you see this, may i suggest you add a little bit in your OP to say something along the lines of "before you post, please search the thread with your question. Simply go to Google and type in site:minecraftforum.net followed by your question."
That should lower the numbers of identical questions at least a LITTLE bit :tongue.gif:
You can change the Java heap size in the Options panel of the patcher. Fiddle with it, both increasing and decreasing it until you can get it to work.
As I said to the person above, I suggest trying to change the Java heap size using the Options panel of the patcher.
Try the Jarfix in the OP, or try reinstalling Java.
You have mods that are stopping it from working. Most common ones are Zombe's modpack and the Optimine mod. Delete your bin folder and run the Minecraft launcher to redownload the game, then try patching it again.
