So i figured id give this a try, since you can select between regular texture packs and HD ones.
It patches good, when I hit the test button, I can jump between HD packs(with bad lag between loading them). It loads fine and everything works.
I go to the browser, load the game....Here is my issue.
If I have a HD pack loaded and I try to play in browser, it does a main load, then goes black. If i wait long enough I get a white screen.
If I have a defualt/ Non HD pack loaded (with the game patched) I can load and play fine.
Any Ideas?
Ive deleted my .minecraft folder and started fresh and it didnt help.
I would use the minecraft.exe. however after several minuets of playing, it crashes and when I load again all the blocks i mined are back, and I die because im in a wall.
Try using the jar version of the launcher (it works on Windows as well). Online version of Minecraft doesn't take well to mods of any kind..
Tried minecraft.jar or the JAR version. Did the same thing, play for 2 min, then crashed. However it did load the HD textures.
I updated Java by googling Java, Am i missing something?
Hey I have a problem, the patcher works fine until I try to use a custom texture pack (I.e one I've dl'd then unzipped to edit then re-zipped) does anyone know why this is ? all other texture packs I've dl'd and not altered work fine, just the ones I have unzipped then re-zipped (even if I don't alter anything in between).
Sounds like your zipping the folder, this is the wrong method, the game unzips it to get to the textures and all it finds is a folder with a weird name, and it gets confused so it does nothing.
what you need to do is select all the files inside the folder and zip those, it should make something named "Archive.zip" rename this and it should work.
Hmm, the patcher patches just fine, I'm trying to use default animations with a custom 32x32 texture pack. It seems to work fine when using the Test Minecraft button, but when normally launching Minecraft it doesn't seem to work. This didn't happen before 1.5. Any ideas?
Hello. I'm on a mac OS X version 10.6.7, and this thing ain't workin'. I'm following your instructions to the letter, but when I switch to the texturepack, nothing happens! Help!
maybe its the texture pack? Some texture packs are compressed wrong so they will not work. To fix it, decompress the texture pack, select all the files and folders inside then compress those. You should get "Archive.zip" rename this to the texture pack name and try again.
I ran the patcher, I clicked patch, I put all my texture pack zips into the texturepack folder, ran minecraft by click "test minecraft" aaaand... only the 16x ones work. Choosing my Gerudoku pack make it default Minecraft.
What did I do wrong?
Make sure the pack is the right one I guess. Redownload the texture pack and if that doesnt fix it, try patching a clean minecraft.jar.
I am having exactly the same issue. My best guess is that I am still using the x86 architecture instead of x86_64. The java app might be designed for a 64 bit system. Does anybody think running at 32 bits as opposed to 64 bits could be the source of the problem?
I am having a problem using this, here is m error i get:

Minecraft exited with status 1
Basically gets to the MOJANG screen then blackness and exits. What I am doing is this.
1) DL photorealism
2) Delete/Renew .bin
3) Patch Jar with the latest patcher
4) Place the zipped photorealism into the texture pack
5) click on the texture pack in game
No matter how many tries it always breaks the game the moment I do step five, what am I messing up?

I'm running Window 7 64Bit with Java 64bit.
I patched 1.5_01 and added the [32x] Mixcraft - SemiRealistic texture pack to the textures folder.
thank you soooo much for this! its amazing! and switching textures without repatching is AMAZING! i used to keep like multiple copies of my bin folder, but now i dont need to :biggrin.gif: awesome!
Thanks so much! It works perfectly. Although, when testing it, it didn't work when I used the 'test minecraft' button... I have to start the client myself. So, not sure what that means.
Keep it up! This is a wonderful product and very useful!
How do I use animated water/lava but not use custom water/lava? The only options are Custom Animated, Not Animated (aka just custom by itself), and Default. The old patcher had the option to uncheck Custom Water and Custom Lava, but you can't do that with this new one.
First of all a question, should all mods be installed after patching a clean .jar?
And second, after adding Optimine(unofficial updated version) everything works fine except that switching texture packs will cause the game to crash and close. The texture pack does get changed and will work fine once you open Minecraft back up though.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way to type the resolution that you want, as in the old version?
For example, I could type something in that wasn't already in the drop-down menu:
Will this be possible in the new version?
I'm only asking because I'm working on a texture pack that could probably only be used with the patcher, but has a different resolution to the standard ones.
when you patch, it patches for any and all resolutions at once.

Yes. Next time just download and try it instead of wasting your time waiting for someone to tell you. If it doesn't work you did it wrong.

I've uninstalled and re-downloaded Java. I've associated the .jar extention with javaw.exe. It works just fine on my girlfriend's laptop.
I have NO clue what's up and I can't find the answer on the internet. Can someone please help me?
