It's doesn't work forme.
I was really excited about trying out this texture pack. Please also note that it,s the first time i use a texture pack.
I followed the instructions on ''http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/ovos-rustic-pack/'' All the patch thing, i swear.
Now i can't open minecraft, the screen is all black and it doesn't allow me to play. I tried to go back in document and remove the texture pack file, But the screen is still black.
Patcher is updated to 2.4.3 with support for the latest snapshot and a long-requested feature, Better Glass! Thanks again to Misa for her awesome ideas and feedback. Full alpha transparency is now supported. To make this effect work, Better Glass requires two textures which are blended together. It's a bit complicated, so see the OP and this sample texture pack to get started.
Hi Kahr, I'm a texture pack creator, the author of Inspiration, and I'm having an issue with Better Skies on 2.4.3. If I'm using Better Skies with 2.4.3, when the sunset or sunrise happens I get 2fps.
I've done some testing:
When I uncheck Better Skies in MCPatcher 2.4.3, the frame lag goes away.
With the Better Skies from previous versions of MCPatcher, and there's no frame lag.
I've tested a couple other texture packs than my own and John Smith's has this lag as well, so it's not just my pack's problem. I do have a few skybox layers fading in and out at sunset and sunrise, but I don't get lag on these fades with previous versions of MCPatcher.
I've also tested previous versions of Minecraft, and that didn't seem to change anything. No matter what Minecraft version I'm on, if I'm using MCPatcher 2.4.3's Better Skies, the game becomes unplayable at sunrise and sunset.
Any idea what may be causing this?
EDIT: I've received confirmation from one of my pack users that he's getting the same frame lag at sunrise and sunset.
Really loving all the texture features. Been working on Faithful 32x32 textures that utilise it.
I do have a request/suggestion for a feature. The current CTM works well in most cases but I'd like to see something like this:
Would that be possible?
you could totally do that i think with a absolute crap tone of ctm and . proprieties files so each time it render the "middle" blocok you ahve it replace that texture with a new ctm sheet and ahve it set up to go maybe 10 layes thick. just a idea
I reinstall minecraft. Install MC Patcher. Click patch. Put in my texture pack. It's Sphax. I just have it in my bin folder, does it go there?
Protip Close all windows when running minecarft for MAX fps

I've been adding a rotating planet to my sky with Better Skies, and was wondering if there's a way to remove the transparency or opacity for that single layer so it doesn't show the my starfield layer behind it in the darker areas. I just want it solid. Is that achievable?
Can i get that texture pack rotating planet sounds cool
Every time I try to open MCPatcher I get the "There was an error opening minecraft.jar" message. I used this just fine with my pervious version of minecraft but after I updated I got this same message. I figure MCP just wasn't updated to that version yet so I just left it, but now its clear thats not the case.
I should also mention that since then I have uploaded the Millenare Mod and Forge, so this might also be a compatibility issue.
Can I use MCPatcher to run mlutiple Minecraft versions, so that I can switch between a snapshot and 1.3.2 via the profiles feature?
Yes, in fact MCPatcher already creates a profile for each new version, including snapshots. From the pull-down menu, go to Mods, Select Profile, and pick the version you want.
Hey guys, anyone tried to assign Better Glas to other than glass blocks? Tried it with emerald blocks but it seems to fail for me. Just used the .propertie files as for the glass block and renamed it for emerald (block133.prop)
The rain splash particles are visible, but the rain itself not ...
I'll take a look, but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to fix it without breaking something else. Even the vanilla game has lots of similar transparency-related glitches that I noticed while developing Better Glass.
In other news, the URL for this thread seems to have changed mysteriously. This unfortunately breaks a lot of links and google searches.
I submitted MCPatcher to Symantec so they could add it to their whitelist. I'd be curious to hear from Norton users if it actually makes a difference (make sure your signatures are up to date). Even if it works, it's frankly a huge hassle. I have to submit each update separately and it takes 3-4 days for them to approve it and probably a day or two from there for the new whitelist to propagate.
I don't know how to get the error report or any of that (I'm new to minecraft), however, after patching minecraft I click "test minecraft" on the MCPatcher menu and I get a black window with the java logo as the icon to bring it up.
When I try to load minecraft in MagicLauncher, The game doesn't even pop up, I get a window that says "log" and has a bunch of code that I can't particularly understand. If you guys would like to see what the code is, I will gladly copy/paste it here.
A. Is anybody else having this problem?
B. How can I fix this problem?
And before you ask, I have tried repatching the game, I have also tried uninstalling minecraft completely and reinstalling it to ensure I have no texture packs/Mods as well as uninstalling and reinstalling MCPatcher. Please help. Thank you.
The big thing is that block faces that are covered by transparent blocks render, while block faces that are covered by solid blocks don't. I've heard a rumor that you can make solid blocks act like transparent blocks, but have not been able to confirm it. I mentioned glowstone because it is classified as transparent. With this idea TnT, pistons, doors, plants and any other transparent block would work as well, without causing world holes. So... technically possible, not very reasonable. Cool to talk about, though.
Yes, as I mentioned in my post, there are two metadata values you need to hit, but I am not sure which one the second one is. Finding it comes down to testing around with different metadata values. EDIT2: My best guess is 6, but after reading about it, I realize there is some stuff there I don't understand.
EDIT: If there is no way to make solid blocks act transparent, then here is the full list of blocks that can be affected by better glass without causing world holes: http://www.minecraft...et/wiki/Opacity
Yeah I tried out making diamond blocks transparent and there were world holes, so rumor confirmed false. I misread the OP.

This was supposed to be a witty signature, but then it got lost somewhere.

Curse PremiumThis worked for me. Thanks!
Please have a look at my channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheMinecraftSteves
There's a problem with Better Grass in the snapshot. Uncheck that and it should work until I can put in a fix.

Fixed for the next update.

My mega long suggestion for Brewing & Farming!
The border of the better glass shows up against stairs and half slabs, while it doesn't show against solid blocks.
