Getting some weird results with the new rotatable wood blocks.
I'd imagine we'd need multiple connected texture "maps" with one of each orientation of the block. Can this be feasibly fixed?
Oh and does Kahr read this thread? I've only followed it for a little bit and haven't seen a direct reply yet.
Curious problem you have there. If this is in he new snapshot, it could be a bug from Mojang's end since they recently tinkered with the way logs behave.
And yes, Kahr does read this thread, though it is mostly for bug reports I think. He does post solutions to some simple problems from time to time.
For those asking in the past MCpatcher has had issues with forge in the past and I believe It was not compatible with Redpower2pr5 ..... It would be nice to be able to take this program and use it in conjunction with MultiMC or Magic launcher too.
I am looking at doing animations for my misa compatable textures I already have for IC2. BC and Redpower does anyone know how I would go about animating a texture from say Red Power. The current directory structure would be eloram/machine/ and the file in question is called machine1.png That has several blocks on it I want to animate like Blockbreaker face (4th row, 2nd inmage from left; BT furnace on (6th row, 3rd image from left; Solar panel (6th row 6 columnl BT alloy furnace on and igniter on)
what would I name the properties file andhow would I figure that out
"/misc/xporbcolor.png:
Used for the experience orbs. This image can be any size. The color chosen will move in a sinusoidal pattern from (0,0) to the end of the image. The speed of the sine wave is slowed down by a factor of 4 to allow texture packs to have slower pulsing xp orbs than the default. If you want to keep the default speed, simply copy your image 4 times vertically."
I made a white 1x1 the first time, and 16x16 the next, attempting to negate the coloring effects, and it didn't work! Is that because I am using optifine(I thought it used MCPatchers patched files...)? :\
Patcher is updated to 2.4.3 with support for the latest snapshot and a long-requested feature, Better Glass! Thanks again to Misa for her awesome ideas and feedback. Full alpha transparency is now supported. To make this effect work, Better Glass requires two textures which are blended together. It's a bit complicated, so see the OP and this sample texture pack to get started.
When I tried to download mcpatcher my computer said that this program is not usually downloaded and might harm your computer.Do you know why?
A new version was just recently uploaded, so you virus protection isn't sure what the files intentions are and can't be sure it's safe since there's no valid signature, you can ignore the warning about this specific file, it's safe. If you aren't sure how to stop it from removing the file, if it's doing that, you can look up how on your virus protections website.
If you're concerned about the file you can wait a few days and download it again, it should work fine.
Also next time, before you ask anything in the thread you may want to check the "FAQ / Troubleshooting" section in the op, as you might find your answer much quicker there.

Ive heard this is possible, but i can't seem to find anyone who knows how to do it, so i figure this would be the best place to ask.
I am a texture artist, and what im trying to do is make it so that oak and birch trees have different leaf textures. ive heard that this is possible with ctm.
(also, if possible id like to make each log have a different top/bottom texture rather than all of them sharing the same one)
MCPatcher handles terrain rendering incorrectly for resolutions other than powers of two (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 etc.). This might not affect a lot of people but is nonetheless annoying. Here's an example from the 5x5 texture pack Öt
Notice that the center pixel is bigger than the rest. This is probably due to upsampling the 5x5 texture to a 16x16 texture which should not be necessary since it works correctly in vanilla. This problem only happens for terrain rendering. Items and mobs are rendered correctly (Items in hand look funky though, but that problem is present in vanilla as well).
When I open MCPatcher (I was just seeing what it is since I just downloaded it), I got a message saying:
Your minecraft.jar appears to be an older version or is already modded.
If you are using other mods, it is highly recommended that you install them via
MCPatcher instead.
-Close MCPatcher.
-Delete both minecraft.jar and minecraft-1.3.2.jar.
-Re-download the game using the launcher.
-Run MCPatcher and select mods to add using the add (+) button in the main window.
Doing this will prevent most conflicts between MCPatcher and other mods.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this optional? And I have:
The latest version of Minecraft (Without snapshots)
100% vanilla
Minecraft launcher
I don't want to delete my .minecraft folder because it takes a long time for the sound to load and gets me worried.
I know it says "recommended", but sometimes when I ignore recommended when it comes to computers, I start getting problems.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Do not be surprised - my English is Google translate. I never play Minecraft without these mods:
ExtraBiomesXl, Industrial Craft, Build Craft, LCTrees++, Metallurgy, Railcraft, Smart Moving, Forestry, Jammy Furniture Mod, Kaevator Super Slopes, Xtra Blocks, ReiMinimap, CraftGuide.
Hey guys after downloading I ran it and everything was pretty much greyed out except for the browse buttons and the mods through patch summary tab buttons. Am i supposed to put the file in a certain place, or open a file with the browse buttons? I do have about 5 mods going, could they be causing this?
Also after opening the minecraft.jar and the 1.3.2 jar it spat this out under the log tab:

Hi Kahr,
I've never had an error with MCPatcher before but now, with MCPatcher v.2.4.3 and MC 12w38b, I have this one:

Please, help me
P.S.: After the patch I've noticed that there was no files inside com/pclewis/mcpatcher folder, there was just the mod folder.
P.P.S.: With Better Skies unchecked MC works and inside com/pclewis/mcpatcher folder there are 5 files and the mod folder.
FIX:
I've fixed my problem doing this:
1- I've patched MC with Better Skies and Better Grass unchecked and everything else checked (I never use Better Grass) and MC worked;
2- I've patched MC again but now with Better Skies checked and MC is still working.
- I've used MC 12w38b vanilla
- I've used MCPatcher v.2.4.3
EDIT: Seems to be a glitch on MCPatcher's side...
Curious problem you have there. If this is in he new snapshot, it could be a bug from Mojang's end since they recently tinkered with the way logs behave.

Thanks for anyhelp
I've never had an error with MCPatcher before but now, with MCPatcher v.2.4.3 and MC 12w38b, I have this one:

Please, help me
P.S.: After the patch I've noticed that there was no files inside com/pclewis/mcpatcher folder, there was just the mod folder.
P.P.S.: With Better Skies unchecked MC works and inside com/pclewis/mcpatcher folder there are 5 files and the mod folder.
FIX:
I've fixed my problem doing this:
1- I've patched MC with Better Skies and Better Grass unchecked and everything else checked (I never use Better Grass) and MC worked;
2- I've patched MC again but now with Better Skies checked and MC is still working.
- I've used MC 12w38b vanilla
- I've used MCPatcher v.2.4.3
Please, fix it Kahr
