To start with, great work on this project so far, it runs like a dream and is super easy to use.
That being said, I'm having a problem and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced it. I've followed all the instructions for installing the HD fix with the latest version but when I go to select my mod (Tronic Revamped v6) it is greyed out and unselectable. I noticed some people were having similar problems earlier on but I have not noticed any recent issues.
Is this a compatibility problem with the texture pack itself or am I messing up somewhere along the way?
try using different browser like firefox...it may be a browser issue..wouldn't hurt to try
Tried it, didn't work. It did get me through long enough to a new window, which I selected allow, and it closed, nothing happened.
Do you, by chance, simply have Windows set to open .jar files with its built-in zip utility?
For Windows 7, Click on Start/Control Panel/Default Programs. Click on "Associate a File Type or Protocol with a Specific Program" and scroll down to .jar. If it says anything but Java(TM) Platform SE Binary", then click on "Change Program" and set it as such.

i need help everytime i try downloading the mc patcher it always opens in winrar i tryed using all the current java programs but that didnt work what do i do
Th download link when hovered over shows a .jar file, but when actually clicked to download.. it comes in as a .zip
As to the above post as well. This has to be saved as a .jar file and the double clicked to start. If it is forcing a zip file download, then right click the link, and save as and is should save as the jar file
Never do anything with the .jar patcher except as to start it. Double click or run with java...but never a need to extract it or open it in any other way.
I dont get it.
The file comes over defaulting to a .ZIP file extension. Why would it do this, and why is this behavior not mentioned in the first post?
1. Download from here.
2. Double-click mcpatcher-2.0.0-beta4.jar.
Step 2 is to double click a file that simply cannot exist if you followed step 1? seriously?
I assume you guys are using Internet Explorer. Funny thing, IE fails in many ways, and one of them is that it thinks JAR files are supposed to be ZIPs (technically they are ZIPs, but Java executes them). The solution is to either use a different browser, or you can try, when saving it, change the file type to "All Files" and then save it as a .jar file.
Hey folks, I'm looking for help. I haven't been able to get textures to work, and I've tried several methods, including those outlined in this thread.
I'm on a Macintosh running 10.6.7
Using Minecraft Beta 1.4_01
0. I searched the entire MCPatcher 2.0 beta thread, and looked at the last several pages of the MCPatcher 1.1.12_02 thread for people with similar issues.
1. The problem I'm having is that texture packs aren't recognized separately, no matter where I put them. I have tried:
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks
In that folder, I've placed both zipped and unzipped versions of the texture packs.
/Applications/Minecraft/texturepacks (with the Minecraft launcher in /Applications/Minecraft) (as outlined... somewhere)
The instructions at viewtopic.php?p=1316504#p2652867 work, but it's not very easy to switch between packs with that method, as it just replaces the default textures.
The instructions at worked, with the same caveat as above.
The instructions at the beginning of this thread work until step 6. However, since that's a known issue, I opened ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and made sure my texture packs were there. (Step 7).
However, step 8 fails. I'm unable to enjoy switching between packs without repatching the game.
I hope I've posted enough so that I won't get the typical response I saw as I was going through the threads. ie: "This has been covered, search the threads." I assure you, I've done my homework, and can't figure out how to make HD Fix 2.0 work properly.

Curse Premiumwinrar is stupid sometimes and converts it on it's own...suggest using 7zip since it recognizes .jar and doesn't try to reformat it
umm what? the download link in the op on the word here works...the word is a hyperlink
