When using Forge 4.0 for MC 1.3.2 (yes, it's available) I get an NPE when the HD Textures option is enabled.
Forge should be working again with 2.4.2. For best results, start with a clean 1.3.2 minecraft.jar and add the minecraftforge-universal .zip via the patcher using the + button. I tested with Forge 4.0.0.213.
Just want to note that MCPatcher on 1.3.1 (Possibly 1.3 too) breaks the formatting on signs - Eg. You can't use spaces to right-align the text. This is very annoying. The way I've fixed it is by disabling "HD Font", so it seems that there's where the problem lies.
MCpatcher 2.4.1_03 and 1.3.2 appears have a minor glitch with fonts. Using Misa 4.20, the serifs of a cap N appear next to a cap M. This doesn't occur with the previous version of MCpatcher and 1.3.1 with the same texture pack.
Both of these font bugs should be fixed in 2.4.2 as well. I've made the default space width a bit wider to compensate for the larger font height in 1.3, but texture pack authors can still override it by setting width.32 in /font/default.properties.
so night vision potions do not have there proper light things up effect when using custom lighting. i know it's not to important now since its a snapshot thing but might be something to look into for the future. i have some pictures below as a example. but for all i know three may already be a fix.
seems ctm is bugging out for a bunch of people since 1.3.... I just had it happen to me since updating to 1.3.2. with my 256x pack, ctm loads fine, every time.... but with my 64x I have to load a world 3-4 times to get ctm to display at all.
I wasn't able to reproduce the problem, but I did change the way CTM is loaded in this release. Try it again with 2.4.2 and see if it's any better.
Old versions of MCPatcher can be found on github, but remember that MCPatcher is intended to be version-independent. Even with the latest MCPatcher, the basic HD Texture / HD Font support works as far back as Alpha 1.2.6, but some of the more complex features require newer Minecraft versions.
Just letting you know that there is an issue with 2.4.2. I get black screen with full reset of everything. I've even removed all texture packs from the folder and did a fresh install with none and still get it.
I have never had a problem with any of your patchers ever, I don't get a crash report it just hangs on the black.png at the start of loading.
I don't use any mods, and leave everything default in options when I patch.
Thanks for this awesome patcher, and adding my suggestion of skybox speeds so quickly
EDIT: After Testing a for awhile tonite I'm 100% sure that the bug that causes the game to hang on the black screen at loading is because of CTM. Even with a fresh vanilla install with no texture packs if I patch 1.3.2 with CTM support it will hang, if I uncheck CTM and patch a fresh copy MC loads with no problem. I tried both the jar version as well as the windows exe. Guess I'll stick to the older verison until it is fixed.
Thanks for your time I hope this is helpful, I think it probably has to do with the way you changed Ctm loading in the new version as you stated in your earlier post.
heya Kahr, since 1.3 it seems patched minecraft is running a lot slower than normal.... but with the latest patcher it is using quite a bit more resources... and running fairly slow. is there something in the optimizations mojang did that the patcher is conflicting with maybe?
Have you read the OP carefully? Ensure you follow the instructions to the 't'.
Better Skies (sample sky.properties, skybox template)
Tired of the default starfield? MCPatcher supports fully customizable skyboxes! Multiple skyboxes can be layered together using several blending methods and set to fade in and out at certain times of the day.
Each "layer" of custom sky must have a .properties file located at /terrain/sky0/sky<n>.properties. In it you specify a texture (default: /terrain/sky0/sky<n>.png), the time of day the texture should fade in and out, and a blending method (default: add). Various blending methods are available: add, subtract, multiply, dodge, burn, screen, and replace. See the sample sky.properties file for more options.
The skybox texture is mapped onto a rotating cube around the game world. The texture can be any size but must have 2 rows of 3 tiles. The template shows how the six tiles on the texture map to faces of the skybox. This orientation is taken at noon in game time, so the sun is drawn in the center of the top face and the moon in the center of the bottom face. This means that a custom starfield should have whatever you want to be directly overhead on the bottom face.
Better Skies works only in the overworld. The Nether and The End are not currently supported.
One new very minor issue appears to be that the texture pack's custom title screen no longer loads with MCpatcher 2.4.2. Misa normally has a black HD title, but now only the default white title is loading.
becouse you don't say something in about my command in your last message i post it here again:
(Topic was CTM for Doors) forget my idea it won't work also. but Dragon_Tamerz idea was much better. I've created an example: https://dl.dropbox.c...u/door.rar?dl=1
and connecting beds dosn't work also connectet glas connects to Glass panes
downloaded2.4.2 but CTM dosn't work. try it on modded 1.3.1, clean 1.3.1 and clean 1.3.2 but all old ctm .properties and the new one (not testet on clean 1.3.2) won't work.
CTM works for me, though I'm getting issues with glass panes:
Hey, whenever I use custom colors, my water particles turn out blue. I want them to stay uncolored, but even after I change the color in color.properties, they still show up as blue. If I uninstall custom colors, they work fine. Is there any way to fix this, or is it a bug?

Pretty sure it contains a virus, my Antivirus software removed it.
Well, there's something wrong with your antivirus because I have never encountered viral issues with MCPatcher itself. Adf.ly, is a different matter...
So I've been searching around trting to figure out how to fix this issue with MC. I do use a 32 bit OS (ya, I haven't updated to windows 7 yet and updated my hardware, plan to do that later this year after saving money). Was wondering what I could do temporarily to have the HD Patcher and John Smith HD Texture pack work with my system and give it more memory. I've tried allocating more memory to java, but as far as I can tell it won't let me give it more than a gig when I try various ways such as the command in the path to give it more memory on click and ya. Just wondering what could be done or if there might be some things I should disable that might help.
Basically minecraft works ok, but after a little time (say 30-60 minutes) it starts having some tearing and then eventually will crash and I hae to restart it. Gets frustrating.
Sorry if this has been asked, been searching for awhile now, but figure I'd ask here cause I think it has to do with the MCPatcher and I really love the john Smith texture pack.
Uh. I just downloaded this, and now my game won't start. I can log in, but then the page is just completely black. :/ I removed it and it's still doing that.

This is the exact same problem I've been having and able to recreate over and over, get a fresh jar and try patching with Connected Textures unchecked and see if that works.
I am in the same boat. I deleted my older version that did work...can I download that somewhere again? I will check the beginning of the post for any links to older versions.
I was trying to install modloader and other mods on a new computer, but it always results in a black screen. I have tried using MCPatcher and have tried installing it manually; but no luck. The problem must lie solely with modloader, because I have tried it with only that. This has never happened to me on any other computers before, so as you can imagine I am scratching my head in bewilderment. It's a clean install for goodness sakes! Anyways, here is the mcpatcher log in the hope that someone smarter can make sense of my problem.

Go to the thread of the texture pack you are using and make sure it supports Better Skies, if it doesn't, this is why it is not working for you.
If you do have a pack which supports it, the most likely scenario is that it'll have its own configuration for sky transitions, so I suggest you ask for help in the pack's thread.

This fix is in 2.4.2. The biome list should be interpreted correctly now.
Looks like you're running out of texture memory. Try disabling Better Skies since that is likely what is pushing it over the top.

Stop using Norton tbh. It's bad :\ maybe not McAffee bad, but bad.
