Just want to note that MCPatcher on 1.3.1 (Possibly 1.3 too) breaks the formatting on signs - Eg. You can't use spaces to right-align the text. This is very annoying. The way I've fixed it is by disabling "HD Font", so it seems that there's where the problem lies.
It would be fantastic if Kahr could take a look at this.
Thanks!
(Also, this bug is present in OptiFine as well)
I've been trying to patch MC so a new texture pack I got will work, but MCPatcher won't even run, just an error log:

Can anyone help? It's been a few days since I posted, and no one has replied yet. I'm still stumped as to why I can't even run MC Patcher. I even gave the MC Patcher file I have to a friend, and he can run it just fine. Just with me it crashes when I try to run it.
Just throwing this out here: is anyone getting issues with ctm vine and ladder connectivity? All my other ctm textures are connecting aside from these two. I've tripled checked the slot index and name for the png and syntax and name for the property file, but they just won't connect???
Does anyone know if an outdated version of MCPatcher can cause server connectivity problems? I can connect to all my other servers EXCEPT one, and it's giving me that "can't resolve hostname" error. I haven't downloaded the MCPatcher HD fix (it updated automatically for 1.3, which I thought was odd) but...any help would be...most helpful. Thanks!

Just figured out my problem through trial and error. It's ModLoader 1.3.1 which is causing issues with vine and ladder ctm connectivity.

Interesting, are you having any trouble with any other textures? I am having a few issues with a few of the CTM functions as well, maybe I should try removing modloader like you did...
without this extension its impossible (or very hard) to retexture the upper doorsides correct
I like what people are doing with doors using CTM, the problem I see is that it will be very brutal on the computer using it. I think that what should happen is that there is a second .png for all sides of a door just like the one in the items folder by default.
He might not need that many, but I do. I'm using CTM to give the door edges different textures, and if it's 3 textures for the visible edges of every half door, 2 halves of a door, and 8 different door placings that each have their own metadata, then I need a bit under 48. Though I can probably reduce it by 8 if I make similar top textures share the same .properties, but that's still more than the 27 .properties files the alphabet provides.
I plan on removing the limit entirely. You'll be able to name the .properties file however you like. If the block/tile ID can't be inferred from the filename, you can specify it inside the file instead.
Still, I'll see if I can make CTM for doors a little easier.

It sounds like a problem with your java installation. I'd try uninstalling every JRE or JDK you can find and removing any remnants manually. Then reinstall the latest one fresh and see if that helps.
What I did:
1. Force update, to get a fresh minecraft.jar
2. Opened mcpatcher
3. Clicked on Patch
4. Exit everything, run minecraft
The glass texture isn't connected
It would be fantastic if Kahr could take a look at this.
Thanks!

I'm going to try installing McPatcher before Optifine.
Anyone know if this works?

Me too. I trust MC patcher though. XD
Potatoes.

Should be in /misc/pinecolor.png and /misc/birchcolor.png.

What would the semantics of metadata2 be exactly?
Yeah, I had to smack myself for that one. Will fix.
