backup saves etc and delete your minecraft folder...start fresh.. may or may not help...but sometimes it does
I have a lot of mods that I'm using right now (including SP commands, Turbo Model Thingy, and Modloader), but had no problems patching and switching between packs.

How am I meant to get this to work on mac? As usual, when I click "Mods and Tex packs" There is only the default pack in it. And, as usual, nothing happens when I click Open Tex packs folder too. Help?

Funny you should mention that. 512x512 actually does work if you increase the heap size. Extremely slow though. At the other extreme, 1x1 crashes, but 2x2 appears to work. Oddball sizes like 23x23 (it has to be square) might even work, who knows.

I wish I could help, but I still have no idea why this happens. I don't think it's anything you did. Does the old patcher work for you?

Ah, I didn't try increasing heapsize.
And you're right, it does work.
And I still get 40-60FPS, which is quite playable.
I'd say after 1.5 comes out with the optimizations I'd be set.
Now if only someone would make a 512x512 pack :S

If I press "Test Minecraft" from the patcher it works fine. But if I close it and start minecraft from the website, it loads, but gives me a black screen.
From the comments it seems like everyone else's is working fine. Why doesn't mine work?
I have 1 pack in my folder, Dokucraft 1.5 High. I'm not really into technical stuff so if someone could please tell me what to do in simple terms to let me see custom water/lava etc I would appreciate it.

Funny you should mention that. 512x512 actually does work if you increase the heap size. Extremely slow though. At the other extreme, 1x1 crashes, but 2x2 appears to work. Oddball sizes like 23x23 (it has to be square) might even work, who knows.
I used LB 256 myself to test, so it should work. It looks like the texture pack itself got corrupted somehow. Try redownloading it?
I wish I could help, but I still have no idea why this happens. I don't think it's anything you did. Does the old patcher work for you?

Ah, I didn't try increasing heapsize.
And you're right, it does work.
And I still get 40-60FPS, which is quite playable.
I'd say after 1.5 comes out with the optimizations I'd be set.
Now if only someone would make a 512x512 pack :S
