If anyone can see what I'm trying to do here- am I just doing it wrong or will this just not work?
How do I make it so the grass connects to itself across a three-dimensional axis?
Im trying to use Rei'sMinimap Modloader SMP Fishing fix and Optifne but it black screens when i start mc up?
What am i doing wrong?
I assume you're using MCPatcher to apply the mods, correct? (Otherwise, there'd be absolutely no point to your posting here.)
First, make sure you downloaded the Modloader compatible version of Rei's Minimap. (There are two versions you can download; one is compatible with Modloader, the other is not.) Then, you need to make sure that Modloader is at the top of the mods you are trying to install. For example, if you're trying to install the mods in the order you listed them in:
Rei's Minimap
Modloader
SMP Fishing fix
Optifine
It might be as simple as not having them in the right order, in which case you'd want to do this:
Modloader
Rei's Minimap
SMP Fishing fix
Optifine
Also, be sure to thouroghly read through the original post in each topic that you downloaded your mods from, as there may be information there that could help you solve your issues. It's also possible that SMP Fishing fix is not compatible with one of the other mods, as I personally use the other three and have no problems.
Hey man, so i wanted to patch my downloaded texture packs, and i press Test Minecraft. and it crashes. Here is the error report:
--snip--
Is it a mod incompatibility, or a bug/glitch? Anyway, thanks if you can solve this problem.
Next time, please put your bug report in a spoiler tag. It helps keep things much neater when you do.
It sounds like you may simply have more items being installed by your mods than Minecraft is able to handle. Try using something like mDiyo's 4096 fix. (Look for the link near the top of the post.)
What program should I use to open this on the mac?
Download one of the links under "All other platforms" in the "Downloads" section of the original post. I'm pretty sure you should just be able to double-click the .jar file and have it execute like it should.
Scroll down to near the bottom of the original post and right under the youtube video (which you may want to watch before you try installing any mods) you should see a Downloads section.
hit the download button on mediafire adf.ly link and my computer says it's malicious? guess that's not happening.
Probably an issue with the website, not the file. Some ads are known to contain viruses, and since adf.ly uses ads to generate its revenue, that's probably what your computer was warning you about. Just use the github link and you should be fine. (By the way, I scanned the file from the mediafire link with an antivirus I use program called "avast! Antivirus" and found no viruses, and since I've already used the one from github, I know that both are safe. )
Hmm, guess ctm and bump mapping don't play nice together.
using misa's pack. Anything with ctm get's incorrect bump and spec. Not really asking you to fix it tho. I turned it off. I'm just really bored right now, and screwing around with stuff. this is probably the most productive thing I've done all night.

Thanks so much to any help I can get!
If you have MCPatcher's HD fix installed, that could be the problem right there, as the RedPower Machine module is currently incompatible with MCPatcher's HD fix. If you don't have the HD fix installed, though, I'd have to say there's a mod incompatibility somewhere.
So, how exactly do I fix textures having this problem?
-snip-
This has plagued me with every version of MCPatcher, and I would appreciate knowing why, as well.
If you are using MCPatcher on a .jar that's already been modified by something other than MCPatcher, it won't allow you to install the HD fix. (It will be grayed out so you can't select it to install.) The HD fix is needed to correct the problem that you're having with your texture pack. To make it work, you'll have to use MCPatcher on a clean (not modded) .jar file. (Which means that any mods you installed before you started using MCPatcher will need to be installed again, preferably using MCPatcher this time.)
I used my backup of my clean 1.2.5 jar and yes, I did select the HD option. No errors during patching, no errors during loading, no errors during adding all of my mods into the jar after patching.
Anyone else just endlessly fall after loading their world with the new snapshot after using the mc patcher? I get no errors, no crashes, its a world started with 12w21a, no mods, fresh jar, let it try to load and it still just endlessly falls. When I remove the mc patcher modded jar and put back in 12w21a vanilla the world loads fine, i've tried it 3 times with fresh downloads now with the same results back and forth.
Next time, please put your bug report in a spoiler tag. It helps keep things much neater when you do.

please, call me Darkly, or Darkly SteamGear. My internet alias sucks :/
Request: Please make it possible to have different textures on items, depending on the amount of items.
For example in my texture pack, if I have 1 cookie, I want the texture to display 1 cookie. If I have a stack of 3 cookies, I want it to display 3 cookies
Wouldn't that require up to 64 textures per item?
