Nope. Get the same error. And I can either save it as a .zip or all file types. Either way it gets saved as a .zip file.
Well..at least we know that's the problem. I would try and delete forum cookies and such on your computer to see if it allows you to download it right. Supposed to be able to click the link and have it download the jar file.

So no one is having problems with custom water and lava since 1.4? I tried it on misa's and Albion (albion isnt entirely up to date) but neither have custom water or lava for me and a friend.
step one: run patcher...don't change anything...just click patch.
step two: open minecraft and go to the mods and texturepacks menu
step three: click open texturepack folder
step four: put texturepacks into folder
step five: choose it in the game menu
step six: play
patcher is an executable .jar file. if double clicking it tries to unzip it, right click then go down to properties, click run with and select java and apply. double click .jar again.
you don't have to re-patch every time..just select packs in game.
install mods after step one..or before patching..whichever works for you.

I run TFC Mod Manager and install these 4 mods, then open up Minecraft and the mods are installed properly. But, when I use the MCPatcher to add the texture pack, it crashes, but I am able to start up minecraft again, the texturepack works fine, but the mods are all uninstalled.

I get this everytime I try to patch, don't really know what I'm doing wrong. I currently have SinglePlayer commands mod and 2d cloud mod installed.
Start from a fresh jar file, then install this BEFORE 2d clouds and SP commands.

Retired StaffNaw...once patched and you have those mods in, texture packs can come and go in the folder. Only when you update should it matter again.

You may have yours set to open with winzip or 7zip like I did. Just right click and open with java
