This is compatible with 1.1, right? I'm using MCNostalgia because I want to be able to use the 1.1 mods until they're updated to the current version. But when I try to add mods I get this error:

I keep getting this error when starting minecraft after patching. I believe it to be because of my graphics card.

MCPatcher-2.3.4_01 with Minecraft-1.2.3 ... I can successfully patch MC (ModLoader, ModLoaderMp, AudioMod, Rei's Minimap, a few others) ... but every time I relaunch MCPatcher, it wipes out its mcpatcher.xml file ... and therefore thinks no mods have been installed. (It is not restoring the original minecraft.jar but it is wiping/resetting the XML file.) -- Mac OSX 10.6.8

I took the advice from posting #4564 but that newer version wipes/resets the mcpatcher.xml file, too.
I can't acess my texture packs page on mc patcher it crashes then on the original minecraft it just turns off here's more information:

I'm no programmer, and in fact I don't know much about how texture packs even work on the technical level. I'm just an artist. But I know this is possible to implement.
Mojang said they wouldn't be able to increase the build height limit without a huge performance decrease, but then they did it and in most cases performance is the same or better.
I don't know if the idea has been mentioned before, and I don't care. It's still a good idea. I could make the game look much better with randomized textures - no more cliffs than look like cement walls, no more fields that look like astro-turf.
Well Iam not a modder but I have basic knowledge... and If it is random its ok the RAM could be enough, but if the game remembers all the random texture for each block, it would be a mess... I guess...

I don't have any complaints and important issues or anything, I just wanted to take the short amount of time it takes to say thank you, thank you for this wonderful, highly important piece of wonder, and thank you for being so good about keeping it up to date and helping users with problems. it really means a lot, to the whole minecraft community, I think.
and all the new stuff you're always adding?? amazing. it's just always great.
I saw the "animations for anything!" thing and nearly had a heart attack from the awesomeness. if that works with mob skins too... I.. the... I think... I just don't think I'd be able to handle that. as a TP artist who tries to find the most creative ways possible to use retexturing, I don't think I'd be able to handle the beauty of the potential of that ;_;
My Jungle trees look like they have snow on each block of wood. Defualt Tex pack and latest Mc patcher even tried an old one. fresh install of MC. not sure whats going on .
well could you possibly make it use your minecraft login when testing minecraft (i have the capes mod and i want to use it my pc i very bad i cant run minecraft.exe or in-browser but i can just barely run it though your "Test Mineccraft" button) please make the patcher use "lastlogin.file" please!!
I have been testing this with Misa's texture pack.
It seems like "Custom Colors" is broken. If i use MCPatcher to install it, the game wont load into a map. The screen either shows the inventory then goes black, or gets stuck at "loading map for a bit".If i install things without it, the Water and Grass and other textures are broken.
When i get into a game, the water says "please use most recent MCPatcher" which i am. And the grass has the Portal and Fire animation on it. Anybody know if we can directly download a fix or something for this?
When I try to launch MCpatcher 2.3.4_01, I get an error from "16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem" that says:
C:\DOCUME~1\151005\MYDOCU~1\DOWNLO~1\Games\MINECR~1\MCPATC~1.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0dc0 IP:05d0 OP:63 6f 6e 74 65 Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
I have been able to run older versions of MCpatcher without this error.
Some additional information:
Windows XP Service Pack 3
Dell Inspiron mini1018 (refurbished)
JRE 7
Minecraft 1.2.3
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT
Redownloaded MCpatcher and now it works just fine.

Forget it ... I solved my own problem. It took a little manual jad'g to figure out that MCPatcher is using the absolute path for the game to access its files. A quick 'sudo ln -s ..." to my home directory solved the problem.
Edit: Somehow managed to download an ancient version of this patcher, dunno how the hell that magically happened. Got it fixed, works like a charm now. /derp
It appears that StillLava, FlowWater, Fire, Compass and FlowLava are missing.
If all you did was double click on MC patcher, they won't be there. You need to hit the "Patch" button.
Also...you may notice that your version of the patcher is way older than the current version...See the title of this page vs. the first line of your log.
What happened?
