Animate ALL the textures! Now you can apply custom animations to any texture in the game.
Is this suppose to work the same as 'custom_terrain_###.png' and 'custom_items_###.png' for things like 'art/kz.png'? Cus I can't seem it get it working.
Also it says somewhere that better glass has been implemented(Exsperimentally). Is this working in the current version?
Anybody getting weird glitches with the transparency in tall grass with Doku's texture pack in 1.2.3? Because they have white outlines and make snow dissapear when you look through them o,o
I am getting this problem on a few different texture packs: JohnSmith 64x64 and LB PhotoRealism 256x256 & 128x128. The difference being that not only is the transparency in the grass messed up, but the transparency in the trees is messed up to. The weird thing is that it is only messed up on tiny and short render distance. When I turn it to normal and far, the problem goes away. I really don't know what to make of all this.
Seriusly, does anyone know if there is a way to make it so it doesn't delete all of your mods when you install it? I want hd textures, but don't want to wait till optifine updates

My apologies if this has already been noted or is considered normal. When i tried to go and download via the adfly link, it tried to force me to do one of those trial offers/surveys. I am going to download for now with the non ad;fly link. But will return later and try it again.
Super job and keep up the excellent work.

Im geting some problems with HD textures (64x) where some things like grass, doors, vines and saplings have gray pixels surrounding them
Might be a problem with the texture pack, had the same problem in my pack. Fixed it by removing some pixels with very low opacity. Alpha transparency is not supported on all textures, and low opacity areas can become grey. Use the eraser around the edges, might fix the problem. =)
Hey! Never posted in this thread before. First off I'd like to say kudos on your work. Been using the patcher almost as long as I've been playing.
Now for the bad... When I start playing in a world (multi or single) everything will start out fine. Running smoothly, everything looks good, but after a little while weird dark sections start to show up
Sometimes I can see images from the terrain.png in them. like parts of the cake, or the bookshelf.
I don't have any mods installed,('cept this) and I've already tried deleting everything and re-downloading.
If I look directly at it my game lags like a mofo. lol
This stuff also shows up even if I don't move around. Like, I go get a soda, come back to the comp., and then it's there. Where it wasn't before. In a chunk that was already generated.
For some reason, I have just a regular 16x16 texture pack I want to use, but when I have HD texture packs checked it wont let me select the texture pack, but having HD textures checked on is the only way I can see custom water and lava and portal blocks. its a iffy bit annoying. Anyone got a fix? It's the craftboy 1.2.2 Light Texture Pack
Tanks at first i thinking about that too but didnt see anything out of place, but it might be as you say "very low opacity" and i didnt notice at firth, thanks
Hey there! I am having the same problem in multiple texture packs. The transparency is leaving gray pixels all over the vegetation in the day, and at night they are black. I am only having this problem with the short and tiny render distance though. The normal and far distances are just fine. I have tried reinstalling and redownloading everything, I have tried refreshing the jar file, and I do not run mods either. So I don't know what the problem is.
i have the java virtual machine error, but i can play in browser until i patched my minecraft is there any way of undoing the patch?
Sigh. The browser crashes with any modifications to the system, so yes, you can undo it. Also, you can fix the jvm error by allocating more ram to minecraft.
Anyway, to delete it, go and delete the bin folder, and anything that says mcpatcher in the .minecraft
Ok. I need serious help. I've tried everything and looked everywhere. If it's something simple or I missed something obvious, I will slap myself.
First off I've used MCPatcher many many MANY times and it has worked perfectly, and texture packs have worked perfectly. So that is not my problem.
My problem is that I can't get the .jar to load in MCPatcher no matter what I do.
So yesterday I updated minecraft and got MCPatcher(before you ask, same version. I'm not trying to run Alpha or something with this). I open it. Normally at the top where it says 'Files' and there's the little "Original/Output" things there that show where your jar is (for me, it's something like users/(my name)/library/application support/.minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar, ya get the idea). Now in that box the jar isn't showing up, it's just blank. So I click the browse(Yes, next to original, not output.)(and I also tried File>select input file as well) I got to the right, correct .jar in my bin. I click it. It jumps to the 'Log' tab in MCPatcher.
But when I go back to the Mods tab, it is blank.
Options blank.
Log, Long code
Class Map- no minecraft.jar selected (choose browse, etc. etc.)
Patch Summary- no patches, etc.
So I try again and again. I reinstall minecraft and MCPatcher multiple times.
Again and again and again.
It doesn't find my jar.
No matter WHAT I try, it's just not picking up on my .jar.
No it is not in folder form, which I tried as a last ditch effort.
Please help. I have a massive craving for realistic texture packs x.x Any help is greatly appreciated!
The Custom Colors mod is making the fog blue in The End...
That one's a typo on my part, a 0.94 instead of 0.094. In the meantime, you can get the default color back by setting fog.end=131318 in color.properties. Or just wait for a fix. EDIT: Fixed in 2.3.4_01.
Is this suppose to work the same as 'custom_terrain_###.png' and 'custom_items_###.png' for things like 'art/kz.png'? Cus I can't seem it get it working.
There's a little more involved than just the png. See the example under Information for Texture Pack Authors in the OP. You need to create a properties file with the coordinates of the section you want to animate.
Im geting some problems with HD textures (64x) where some things like grass, doors, vines and saplings have gray pixels surrounding them.
at first i was thinking it was something wrong with the texture pack itself but after checking with Photoshop there were no such pixels
I tested different texture packs and all had the same problem in one way or another
KayneCraft
Ornate 5 (terrein updated for MC1.2.3)
DokuCraft - The Saga Continues
No problems here with Kayne or Doku. I tried all 4 render distance settings and both fast/fancy. Do the grey pixels still show up when you don't patch at all?
So yesterday I updated minecraft and got MCPatcher(before you ask, same version. I'm not trying to run Alpha or something with this). I open it. A few mac users have this problem, but I've never been able to reproduce it. The default path should be /Users/(name)/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar. What is in the log window after you select the jar file manually? If there's a stack trace, it might help me get to the bottom of this one. PM me the log if it's too long to paste here.
I wonder can you help me? I wanted some randomobs skins so I got the patcher and patched. But now my lava and water look atrocious. How do I get them default-looking again?
If all you want is randomobs, just uncheck everything but that one before you patch.
Hey, I'm a texture artist. I just had a thought. What if we had randomized textures much like the random mobs feature?
Imagine a normal field of grass made with multiple textures, or a cliff. Properly drawn, so that each texture is seamless with any other related texture, it would greatly enhance the look of the environment by getting rid of the uniformity of it.
Each texture could be named random_terrain_#.png with the number being the position of the texture on terrain.png, just like the current animated textures are named.
It would also be helpful to designate each texture with a percentage modifier that designates how often it gets applied, so that texture packers can say "I want this stone texture to be used in 5% of the cliff, this one to be used on 20% of the cliff, and the remaining 75% to be this other texture."
I hesitate to ask for this feature since it would mean much more work for me as a texture artist, but the benefit would be worth the extra effort, I think.

I know you are a good texturer but that idea is so old (and in my opinion stupid). if the computer remembers the textures of all the block it would be a horrible lag even more with random grass... also if you randomize an ore you obtain the principal ore texture and that doesnt feels ok... also (again) this has been posted a lot of times... I wonder why people gets mad with someone that says "do you have a release date?" and doesnt get mad with people that says "I have the same boring idea of random blocks..." ¬¬
I'm having the same problem as Lamporal only i'm on a windows computer. And heres the log.
