I'm getting a huge amount of lag due to the hd patching. I've tried with no mods except for HD Patch (no HD fonts, no creatures, no grass mods, etc).
When I have Soartex fanver (64x) as my texture pack and HD patching, my framerate immediately drops to about 1 fps. Even the title screen is ultra-choppy.
If I use the default textures with HD Patcher, then everything seems fine.
If I use Soartex fanver textures without HD patcher, then the speed is fine also, but obviously the textures don't work right.
It's only when I have a HD texture and am using the HD patcher that I have the problem.
Using HD texture packs requires more of your computer hardware. If MC runs fine with default textures, it's not the HD patch that messes things up, but your computer that can't handle higher-than-default resolution texture packs. So upgrade your computer, downgrade your graphical settings, or stick to 16x texture packs.
Yeah... that's not it.
I've gotten 120+ fps using optifine and 64x textures. MCPatcher has always worked for me before (although not quite as well as optifine)
Now, I'm getting 1-2 fps. Either there's a bug in there, or I've really messed up my setup (always a possibility).
My guess is that it's something that 1.1 introduced.
When i went to patch to use Misa's HD, I coudnt click on the "Custom Colors" in the patch menu. It seemed to be whited out. Before (for 1.0) I was able to click it to select the "Custom Colors". Not shure why it does this, is it because my computer cant handel this? Not shure if anyone else has this problem. Major Troll.
I had a similar issue. If you want default fonts without using HD Fonts, go into your HD texture pack and then delete the "font" folder from it. That'll make it so regular fonts are used again.
Not sure if this is exactly the right place to put this, but since I found the error through MCPatcher and no one in the DokuCraft thread knew what to do, here's my problem:
Ok, I just want to post this one last time before I just go about replacing my Slime and Magma Cube textures. I don't mean to be a bother, just want to get this done.
To bring anyone willing to help to speed, my Slimes and Magma Cubes are appearing as such:
Slime:
Magma Cube:
But, using any other Slime and Magma Cube textures work:
Thanks to some help I've gotten before, I'm certain it's not a matter of Minecraft, Java, MCPatcher, or Dokucraft versions, as they are all up-to-date. However, when a Slime or Magma Cube appears, the MCPatcher log gives me this error:
########## GL ERROR ##########
@ Post render
1281: Invalid value
which, if I understand correctly, has something to do with Minecraft attempting to display a texture it's not patched for. Anyways, like I said, I don't mean to be bothersome, but if anyone knows what's going on or is willing to help, I would be really, really appreciative.
I know that GL Error is fairly common, but I haven't come across something like this in my searches. I've tried all kinds of remedies (unpatching, repatching, starting with a fresh minecraft.jar, updating Minecraft, updating Java, updating the texture pack, updating MCPatcher, etc.) and none of it has seemed to work. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this at all? Thanks to anyone who helps. :smile.gif:
Edit: Disregard that, I was able to fix it. :biggrin.gif:

I'm trying to get the Elemental Arrows mod. Will anyone be willing to help me?
Nevermind. I figured it out. Had to create a seperate folder for the mods... dunno why...
Having Trouble, already looked around for solutions. Please help.
When I download MCpatcher, it gives me two errors. One says: Error ____
There was an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because:
- The file has already been patched.
- There was an update that this patcher cannot handle.
-There is another, conflicting mod applied.
- The jar file is invalid or corrupt.
You can re-download the original minecraft.jar by deleting your minecraftibin folder and running the game normally.
Please see log window for more details.
OK
The second error says: Error
MCPatcher has encountered an error and cannot continue.
Please copy the messages from the loq window if you need to report this problem.
You must restart MCPatcher before using it again.
If your minecraft.jar has been corrupted, you can re-download the original minecraft.jar
by deleting your minecraftlbin folder and running the game normally.
Please see log window for more details.
OK
I want to use MCpatcher with Ovo's Rustic texture, v1.7

I'm having trouble with MCPatcher HD for Minecraft 1.1. It seems to create multiple minecraft.JARs! For instance, I reinstalled Minecraft, and the only .JAR that was there was minecraft.JAR. Then I installed the patcher and all of a sudden there's a new .JAR called minecraft-1.1.JAR, in addition to the original minecraft.JAR.
I reinstalled minecraft the first time because not only did I have those two .JARs where there was supposed to be one, I also had ANOTHER .JAR called minecraft-beta-1.8.1.JAR.

How do you think it's going to patch the minecraft.jar or restore the original if it doesn't keep a backup? Each version has its own backup (and set of mods) so you can switch between them.
Okay, what jar file do I use, to add mods like normal? The minecraft jar or the minecraft-1.1 jar? I don't want to use mcp to add mods, it's confusing and makes no sense at points - I just want to do it normally, the way I'm used to and can understand.
I have a feature request: Partial transpareny for HUD elements (only the hotbar seems to support it atm). Would be nice if you could atleast add alpha-channel support for the health/hunger/armor icons.

Oh. Hmm, I didn't think of it that way before. I'm just glad that it isn't some weird glitch! ^^'
Hello, I'm just wondering on how the new animation properties are supposed to be worked with. Is this a .txt document that has a certain format that later has the extension renamed?

Minecraft will always look for the Minecraft.jar for its data. The Minecraft1.1.jar and such are backups of the .jar before the patcher ran, and thus it would be a pointless venture for the patcher to point MC to them to run, as it would make all its work pointless.
So, yeah. Install mods to your minecraft.jar, and ignore the 'Minecraft1.1.jar's

This is with Minecraft 1.1.
How is that a bug? MCPatcher doesn't change the modelling of the blocks. You can't have different widths.
It's not even related to HD textures. You'd get the same thing if you tried making it narrower on a 16x texture pack.
Yeah... that's not it.

Sometimes when you open it up the HD Textures and HD fonts are locked/grey
the only way ive seemed to fix it was redownloading
