I found a bug/problem
I wanted my dirt to be oranger in deserts and darker in forests
the dirt works fine... but sidegrass dirt doesn't change.
I did everything properly in the config file.
could you make it so sidegrass can be edited
cuz it seems that it is hardcoded that you can't change it
:sad.gif:
Good find, but unfortunately that's not the only problem. Side snow, unlike side grass, is all one texture which means that any coloring applied to it will affect the snow part of it as well. This means that side snow will no longer match the rest of the snow. I'll see if I can come up with something clever, but it doesn't look promising.
For some reason, the custom colors option in my MCPatcher is greyed out,and I can't get it to be checkable. Probably the cause of my grey water in the landscape with Misa's pack. Any ideas?
I am running MC1.0.0, Modloader, modloaderMP, Forge 1.2.2, and the Minecart Compatibility Layer 4.0.
I have this same problem. I really need the custom colors in order to use Misa's pack but no matter how many times I reinstall the patcher custom colors is grayed out. I have even reinstalled Minecraft and it's still grayed out. I don't know what to do!
The answer to "How do I get MCPatcher to work with insert mod name here?" is always the same. Start from a clean minecraft.jar with no mods. To do this delete both minecraft.jar and minecraft-1.0.0.jar and redownload. Then start MCPatcher, click the + button ,and add mods one by one. When you click Patch, mods will be injected into minecraft.jar properly. Even Optifine works this way as long as you uncheck HD Textures, HD Fonts, and Better Grass.
Hey can you try and work this out:
After analyzing the origin jar, have it keep track of the files it has,
Then underneath each mod name have it say have many are replacing, and what files are ones becoming added!
Also can you ask the makers of GLSL shader, and water shader, to make MC-Patcher versions of their work and if you can use them with the default set of MCPatcher mods?
Ok .... starting with a clean jar and installing Mod loader, ModloaderMP then MC forge and then going in and using MC Patcher I don't get the option to gett he custom colors. for Misa's pack and my tecture pack addon to her textures.
Now I reversed it and did hd patcher firs and I was able to install modloader fine, and then modloader MP fine. Forge Black screens me
Without your excellent program I would never have started modding Minecraft. You've made it so easy. There is however one issue that holds me back from seamless mod set transitions. When you make a custom profile MCPatcher doesn't save the Minecraft version. Only the original profiles made by MCPatcher retain this information. It would be great if you could look into improving this functionality. Thanks a lot!
Iv been looking like crazy around the Internet as to how i can add a certain glow effect to a custom block texture.
Her is my texture block iv made
With this block Iv created a pretty cool room. Or it would be cool if i could make that block glow!
If you seen the Tron movie, i want a similar blue emitting light from that blue line in my block.
Okay, so whenever i use MCPatcher, it works when i dont use ModLoader and AudioMod, whats up with that? And when i do try to use those options, it crashes/black screen. Is it because they have similar class files? whats going on?
Hello Kahr!
I am a very big fan of McPatcher and I use it every time there is an update for Minecraft and I need to use my favorite texturepacks. Well, recently, it has come to my attention that McPatcher and my computer aren't getting along very well. I run Mac OS 10.6.6. My java is completely up to date. When I open the McPatcher 2.2.3 with right-clicking and choosing "Jar Launcher", it opens up. But this morning, I saw that the checkboxes for "HD Textures" "HD Font" and "BetterGrass" were unchecked. This meant that "RandomMobs" and "TooManyItems" were checked. My plan is to patch my texture pack/minecraft.jar, WITHOUT BetterGrass or RandomMobs, but WITH HD Font, HD Textures, and TooManyItems. So, when I went to click the little checkmark by "HD Font", it jump straight toward the log and spewed out a gush of text at me.

So then, I said, "Did it check the checkbox?" So, I clicked back to "Mods" and saw that the Mod "HD Font" was highlighted, but not check-boxed. So I gave up and clicked "Patch". (With the Mods "RandomMobs" and "TooManyItems" checked. The rest were unchecked) Almost immediately, it stopped at 7% and froze. I opened up the "Force Quit" menu and got out of the mishap. Upon relaunching MCPatcher 2.2.3 (Keep in mind that I insist on using minecraft.jar 11w49a), and it said that my minecraft.jar was corrupted.
I went through this process about 10 times, before I had to go somewhere. Here I am now, begging for help. I cannot live without my custom font and my HD textures!
Please Kahr, help me.
Thanks.
[EDIT] Sorry for the repost Kahr, but I wasn't sure that you saw it last time.
Nevermind. I figured out the problem. I had to uncheck the box to include HD fonts and Texture. and deselt the class files from modloader that MCpatcher also had.
Which class files were those? i need to know, I NEED MY WEAPONS, I wanna make my armory.
Ok ... Been having an issue with getting things to work so everything is correctly I am using Industrial craft 2, Buildcraft, additional pipes, invtweeks, reiminimap, powerconverters and redpower2. These files are located in the mods folder and for each of these mods I have to install modloader, moadloaderMP and MCFoge into the jar.
Due to differing means of installation between each mod I have tried it several ways.
1. loaded each one into the jar manually in order modloader, moadloaderMP, MC forge. then I tried to run MCpatcher but MC patcher greys out the custom colors mod for some reason.
2. I used MCpatcher first and then loaded each of modloader, modloaderMP and MCforge into the jar manually. After that there was some issues with forge and repeated balckscreens.
3. Using mcpatcher to install the 3 previously mentioned mods and other things into the jar. It works sorta.
Method 3 seems to be the only one to work but it isn't working fully. There is an issue with the texture pack I am using (misa's) and the water. The water is fine as normal water but when it is in a buildcraft pipe or tank the water is clear/white. Also the water as displayed by the reiminimap is white/grey.
wtf cant check custom colors now the water is grey on misa's realistic texture pack
Just based on my experieces you made changes to the jar first before trying to use MCpatcher. yea that has been caussine issues with other mods modifying the jar first. not sure if you will be able to do it that way anymore. you may have to use MCpatcher for all but that also presents issues of its own
Why is it when I use MCPatcher it "resets" my minecraft.jar file and wipes out all my mod installs? Please don't say that it does not do this, because it has happened repeatedly. Patcher installs just fine but all mods dissapear from the jar and it is reset to "clean".

What is up with this?
You have to patch first, then manually add mods afterwards.
Or, click the "+" button in the patcher and add them to the patcher's queue. Then the patcher will add them along with the HD patches, without you having to open minecraft.jar.

Hi, I am new to minecraft and extremely new to the forum. If I miss something, that will probably be a lot, please point it out. I am trying to run the texture pack DokuCraft. In the description on the forum page, it says I need mcpatcher hd. However I am unable to download it. Whenever I open it, I get an error saying that it is either outdated, isn't coded right, and other things. In the code, it says corrupted. Is there a new version of this I am missing? Btw, I am running Mac Os:Lion (the latest version). I have tried both the download links for non-windows users, and i get the same error. Please help!
The links are right under the Downloads section. Also the github uploader finally decided to cooperate so those links are up to date (2.3.0_01) now.
