Got it working by totally deleting the .minecraft directory and starting over. Not sure what the issue is, because the only difference to what I had been doing was deleting the stuff that AFAIK the patcher doesn't touch... :/
Still it works now so I'm happy. :smile.gif:
Well...this patcher is different than Xau's original, I know, but assuming you "we/I" know all what "needs" to be deleted to make sure a patcher works properly, has always been a bad idea. Only way to ever be sure we are doing it right, is to make sure you know where you are starting from. And a fresh start always lets you know.
Minimum - delete the bin folder
Maximum - delete all (never without backing up saves, texture packs.

copy/paste..don't need to be a programmer to select all of it, ctrl+c, make a post and ctrl+v..it's basic computer skills. just sayin
when i use this the game starts out at 200k ram, and builds to 800-1500k ram at which point the minecraft screen goes black and have to force-end process. its really anoying xD (I LIKE MY TEXTURE PACK!)
delete the bin folder! redownload and try again (the bin folders at %appdata%/.minecraft)
(and before u say anything, I have watched these forums for MONTHS! i just finely had a reason to make an account earlier today....)
wow..this long without any issues being posted..that's good news eh?
I have more good news then!
I've used the the new patcher last night and have been swapping between JohnSmith's (32x) & Misa's (64x and has a custom font) packs and have not gotten any errors so far.

It's the ears, right?
Girls just love the fuzzy ears! Nyao~!
I have been using your program for a while now on windows and it has worked very well, thanks for making this for us all!
I have now switched to linux (ubuntu 10.10) and Im having problems with patching minecraft.
When I run the patcher (.jar file) it tells me that it can't find /root/.minecraft.
Is there any way to change where the patcher looks for the minecraft folder ?
Because minecraft.jar unwraps itself not in the /root folder but in the /home/user folder IIRC
Then again I am a linux noob so maybe there is something basic here that I am not getting...

ok but how about my problem? and I didn't have a log to copy it from. I had to make a batchfile with the pause command to keep the cmd prompt up to get this.

When you launch the program, there is supposed to be a log window that pops up, if not it means that it isn't even executing correctly.
Currently, I can't use Aza's arid pack with either patchers. I made a few backups and tried multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of Java, patchers, the texture pack, and Minecraft to no avail. My game loads up and either crashes at the Mojang logo or lags to the point that I cant get through the main menu. I'm assuming this is a CPU performance problem, since I can still play unpatched fine. Thanks in advance for any tips.

I'll check it out tonight, thank you so much!
I'll post here if I have further issues.
