Did you drag the files from mcpatcher.jar into minecraft.jar or something? Just run MCPatcher as a standalone program.

Please try running the patcher from the command line to see if there are any errors not being displayed. cd into the directory where MCPatcher is and run

java -jar mcpatcher-2.2.0.jar
or
java -jar mcpatcher-2.2.0.exe

Yeah, that shouldn't be displayed for newer pre-releases. I'll fix that in the next update, but in the meantime you can ignore the message.

Other mods that worked with pre4 will most likely have to be updated before they will work with pre5.

Im sorry but I dont know what you mean by "running the patcher from the command line"

Can you add an option to have custom animated water/lava, but not to get this when a pack doesn't provide animations?


Also, can you try your hand at adding support for custom End portal animations?

uhh.. everytime i try to run this after putting minecraft 1.9.4 or 1.9.5 in bin
it adds a minecraft 1.8.1 folder and then says "your minecraft jar appears to be a older version or is already modded" do i have to install 1.9.4 with mcpatcher? somebody please help, this is starting to irritate me

Thanks very much for the font excel spreadsheet. That can save a lot of time and headaches. I did my properties file manually for all characters and by trial and error.

i cant get this to install anymod other than toomanyitems. i have all of the requirmenst for the mods its nust not installing them right

i have installed a texture pack that asks for you to use this patcher, so i download it. after i download it, i click patch (like the instructions say)
i then refresh minecraft, and it doesnt work.
it just breaks. it crashes, doesnt load, generally breaks. i have to reinstall minecraft (i lost my main world in the progress, and am fairly angry because of this) and i have to reinstall the texture pack.
i did everything as the instructions say, and this happened. TWICE. help?

is it too many items compatible?

i think it is easy to use all you do is instal it then click on patch :biggrin.gif:

Very strange, never happened to me. I am curious as to how you ended up losing your world though, as far as I know the patcher does nothing to change them.

You will get a warning about conflicts, but it can be ignored.

Yes, I use TooManyItems all the time. See screenshot above, and just take out the other mods listed.

New patcher update 2.2.1. Mostly improvements to Random Mobs. github links still tbd.

• Random Mobs is no longer dependent on HD Textures. This allows Optifine users to have Random Mobs.
• Random Mobs skins are now persistent in single-player. Mobs will not change appearances when saving and reloading the world.
• Fix incompatibility with Tale of Kingdoms mod. (Workaround for javassist classFile.compact bug)
• Use numbered spider/enderman_eyes##.png texture if present.

My game crashes when ever a tool or weapon brakes? I only happens when I use Mc Patcher... Any idea why? Btw I'm using 1.8.1

Using a fresh 1.8.1 .jar, I've tried windows and non-windows versions.(not entirely sure what OS I'm on)
I'm pretty sure I'm non-windows, because only the non-windows minecraft launcher works for me.
When I try to run this I get this error under patch summary:

Edit: I just closed Minecraft .jar, opened in 7-zip and retried. It worked. Odd.

I'm missing something...1.8 worked fine, I upgraded to 1.9.5. When i run this program, it tells me i need to delete the jar file(s) and reinstall 'from the launcher.' Is 'the launcher' referring to the minecraft launcher or MCpatcher itself? Neither works; that is, neither downloading and running the exe from minecraft.net, or running MCpatcher (i get a ".jar not found.' this perplexes me since mcpatcher asked me to delete these files in the first place. clearly there is something obvious here i'm missing. When I start with a jar from 1.8, MCpatcher doesn't seem to know I want to run 1.9.5.

I'm willing to copy my saved games and completely start over- would just moving .minecraft from the appdata folder be enough, or will the program find any copy of the game on my system? How do I get this patcher to work with 1.9.5?
