Hi sorry to ask this, but I've tired to patch the 1.4_01 with the last version of mcpatcher (1.1.12_02) and it doesn't work anymore :sad.gif:
I've try with the beta but I don't understand how it works. I click patch but nothing happen. I can't select the zip file like in the previous version.
Please help me, I can't play without Jolicraft anymore :sad.gif:
once again since nobody can look through this thread and find the answer posted 50 times already.
step one: run patcher...don't change anything...just click patch.
step two: open minecraft and go to the mods and texturepacks menu
step three: click open texturepack folder
step four: put texturepacks into folder
step five: choose it in the game menu
step six: play
sorry..I'm pissy..3rd day without sleep...hate being sick
wow, you may think i'm stupid, but my patcher wont even open :sleep.gif:
i tried opening it with java (i think i am supposed to do that), but nothing happens
i tried extracting, but that didn't help either.
What did i do wrong??
answer to get free cake (the cake is *not* a lie)
double click it.
and no, i dont want your boring 4 years old meme, sorry.
look through the comments on the thread before asking the same question 50 other people have already asked. keeps you from getting rude responses..just sayin. I have personally answered your question on every page of the thread..multiple times
edit: and i would have been nicer if you offered pie...I like pie..mmmm...pie
I figured out what was wrong. Instead of just hitting patch when I opened it i need to check texture pack and choose what texture pack i wanted to patch.

you are using the old patcher...why?
Since i had to re-install minecraft multiple times trying to get the texture pack to work I decided to just try anything as a last resort...I was using the new 2.0 beta one but i decided to try both. It worked
I followed all of the directions given on the previous page, and nothing has worked for me. Could someone give me a LEGIBLE step-by-step instruction?
nope got it.

Grugsy, thanks for this. :smile.gif: Just tried the latest version and realised where I was going wrong when i first tried it. After months of rigidly patching the texture pack, your simple explanation sufficed to make me understand. Hats off to you, and to Kahr of course for an amazing bit of coding that should have been written and included by Notch months ago. No it's not a lozenge (Gestankfaust...stranger danger!)
It's been working good for me so far, but I ran into some problems when I installed Optimine. Whenever I tried to change texture pack, the game would crash. The pack would have changed when I started Minecraft again, and all of the resolutions and custom stuff still worked, but still, it's kind of an inconvenience.
This is what the log said when I changed packs with Optimine (Inio's unofficial 1.4_01 update) installed.

I installed Optimine after patching my game. I tried to do it the other way round, but the patcher didn't want to.
I've answered this before, but I'll answer again just for you lol.
1. Start from a clean minecraft.jar,
2. patch the game (HD fix and HD font fix),
3. add optimine (but don't add the ox.class file for optimine),
4. voila! should work.
When using a 256x256 pack, I notice extreme slowing once I replace terrain.png (20fps tops, even at 640x480 window using a ATi 5870). The old version of the patcher works just fine, still, but I thought you should know. Terrain.png is the only item I add into the jar after patching, and yes I've tried without HR fonts and without custom animations. Deathly slow.
I've force updated minecraft multiple times, set textures to default, and the patcher still has the hd textures greyed out. Is there anything else I can do?

Try to completely deleting the .minecraft folder (except for your saves, screenshots and texturepacks of course) and try the patcher again, this can help sometimes.
Nope that's the way I did it, my texture pack is in the correct folder already. (C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks), download and run the patcher. Run the game (it launches fine) select the texture pack from the in game list and load a save. But still only see the default textures.
I'm going to give it another try later on when some more mods are updated to 1.4_01, but figured someone might like to know about my issues.
FYI This isn't a complaint as I'm happy with the old patcher at the moment, but if no bug reports are filed things won't get better... :wink.gif:
Try seeing if the texturepack is packaged correctly, (is there a folder inside the zip file or are all the files present right when you open it, i.e. the terrain.png?) if it isn't the that would cause the default textures to be loaded. If you're not sure about whether it's packaged correctly it's worth trying with another pack if you haven't already.
@Glimmar you're welcome..and thank you.. And for the record faust has good cough drops..I slept like a baby..I did wake up with an odd burning sensation...nvm.

You've already been answered but if you prefer a 32x pack rather than the 64x pack that Grugsy suggested then I would recommend Faithful 32x32 Pack
Also, are you speaking on behalf of xau, or did you actually make the app?
