help me please my mc patcher dont using hd textures and i cant choose it it just grey and patcher only making is HD Font , Better grass.
i dont have any mods on my minecraft
I'm having an issue. I can use the patcher just fine, but afterward, Minecraft will crash after the Mojang screen, every single time. I thought it was an incompatibility somewhere, so I took out all my mods except ModLoader and AudioMod and it still happened. I had no trouble using Optifine, and I never used to have trouble with MCPatcher when I used it in the past, so I'm not really sure what's going on with this version, or if I'm doing something wrong without realizing.
EDIT: So apparently it works just fine, provided the mods are installed through the patcher. Anything not installed through the patcher will crash the game. Is this intentional? Not that I mind, if I can load all my mods through the patcher, I'm just curious if this is how it's intended to work.
edit: I also just found a small bug, when you try to add a mod to the list but abort (don't know about if you finish that) it doesn't close the file handle keeping the file still accessed so I can't delete it now : /
edit 3: I guess that refusing of adding files if they get replaced by a lower placed mod only applies to base classes, for all others it takes the first file it gets and refuses the later ones. When I placed MLP before Modloader the MLP version of MLprop was used instead of Modloader's.
That would make ordering hard for compatibility if a mod replaces base classes and not base classes (f.e. patches)
Also fixed. Later mods should override earlier ones.
Doesnt work ive tried to use this all the time. First hd texture pack is greyed out. and if i click patch it just says this.
Patching...

Restoring original minecraft.jar due to previous error
This bug has been around since xau's patcher, and I still don't know what causes it. I have a possible workaround, but it's ugly:
Download the jar version (not the exe)
Use WinZip, 7-zip, etc., to unpack the jar into its own folder, say mcpatcher-2.1.0_02.
In the folder, right-click and create new text file called mcpatcher.bat. Make sure you have file extensions turned on so you are creating mcpatcher.bat and not mcpatcher.bat.txt.
Edit the file in notepad and copy the following into it:
@echo off
java com.pclewis.mcpatcher.MCPatcher
pause
Save the file and exit.
The mcpatcher-2.1.0_02 folder should look like this:
com
javassist
META-INF
resources
mcpatcher.bat
Double-click mcpatcher.bat.
Anyone having this problem, please try these steps and let me know if it helps.
Please Make this "mod" Mineforge ready.
ji.class & ra.class conflicts
I have no problems with Mineforge if I install it using the patcher. I used Better Than Wolves to test. In order, my mod list looks like
ModLoader
minecraftforge-client-1.0.6
BTWMod2-94
HD Textures
HD Font
Better Grass
I added Too Many Items and Single Player Commands, and that worked too. Just put other mods before HD Textures and they will usually work.
About 1.8: It's possible that the patcher will just work as it has with previous updates, but it's a pretty major update, so I'm not betting on that. Fixing it will be my priority, but depending on how bad the breakage is, it may take days. One complication is that I'll be out of town for a few days starting next Thursday. I plan to take my laptop, but it's ancient and can barely run a window manager, let alone Minecraft + IDE + patcher. If 1.8 is released on Monday as anticipated, I hope I can fix any problems before then.
im using minecraft1.7.3, and im using mcpatcher 2.1.0_02, but when i run the patcher, the hd texture option is greyed out and cannot be selected, and in the log it says that it cannot match the colorized water class file and there are multiple colorized grass filesm to match. how do i fix this?
When I patched to allow HD texture packs, the sound is disabled in game and needs a deletion of minecraft, java, and a restart of your computer. After that, I had to reinstall java, minecraft, and go without an HD texture pack. Might be something you want to look into.
I tested this multiple times and it took me quite awhile to figure out this was the issue. I did not put any mods on my minecraft before patching, this is purely the patchers side of things.
Can someone explain to me why it's better to use this and not simply putting the texturepack in the texturepackfolder?
If you have a texture pack that is "HD" (32x32 or higher), it will glitch or crash without this patcher.
If you're using a normal texture pack, you don't need this.
Preliminary reports indicate that MCPatcher 2.1.0_02 works just fine with the pre-released Minecraft 1.8. You do not need to download a new version of the patcher. I've updated the OP, but please post if you find any problems.
how many patches is that now Kahr? (that it didn't "need" to be updated for) lol it really baffles ones mind why Notch wont just add it to the game. it obviously doesn't take much maintenance to keep it working with updates.

Well 1.6 required a small change to accommodate a new BiomeWater class (which the game doesn't even use, does it?), but that's pretty much it since I released the new patcher. I really expected 1.8 to break it, though, and was amazed when I fired up the patcher today and nothing was greyed out.
I do hope Notch or Jeb adds proper HD support eventually. The HD font patch is trivial, and HD textures could be implemented a lot more cleanly by someone with access to the real source code.
I have got windows 7 x64 and i can't open MCPatcher... Any1 can help me please?
Sounds like a problem with your Java installation. Do you have the same problem with both the .exe and .jar versions? Try uninstalling all versions of Java and installing the 64-bit version from here.
Every time i patch, it doesnt make it so that i can use HD packs, but instead it installs TMI, which in my opinion is very very odd.
Any help please.
You probably had TMI installed the first time you ran the patcher. In your .minecraft/bin folder, delete the both minecraft.jar and minecraft-1.7.3.jar, then redownload using the game's launcher.
Haven't seen anything like that. What texture pack is it and what are your system specs?

it doesnt matter what texture pack all of the hd ones do it and why specs hd texture packs use to work fine untill now!
Once again, I downloaded the Patcher, followed the instruction (which are really simple so I doubt I did them wrong), had HD Font and HD Textures checked, patched it and everything, but LB Photo Realism x256 doesn't work and is treated like the default texture pack. 16x16's have always worked and still do, both the x64 and the x128 textures also do not work. Although the texture pack isn't working, the water and lava textures in the 16x16 texture pack I've been using (Painterly Pack) are working now.
My OS is Snow Leopard and I'm using Beta 1.8 prerelease if that makes a difference.

T_T Answer the GODDAMN QUESTION. Or you’ll have another hole in your head

I'm having a similar issue. I used to have no issues with the Patcher, but it isn't working now.
I recently rebuilt my PC (same hardware and OS version, just wiped and reinstalled Win7). Last time I played Minecraft and used the patcher was version 1.6 - I decided to try the 1.8 early release. Version 1.8 works fine on it's own. But once I run the patcher, Minecraft takes almost 30 seconds to load the launcher (versus about 1 second unpatched). And when I start it up, it will show me all texture packs in the list, including 32x32 or higher, but will only actually load 16x16 packs; the others are greyed out.
I am running Win7 x64 and have tried both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Java. I have also tried with both Minecraft versions 1.8 and the latest release of 1.7.3
For anyone who doesn't mind the incompleteness I figure it's fair that I upload a preview pack. All the unfinished stuff will still be 16x16. For some reason the spiders are all white except around their eyes but this is likely a problem with the patcher rather than the pack.
