how do you like the looks of my HEV suit? maybe i could give it to you and you could add it too the items.png?
anyways.. i took the liberty of uploading it to mediafire.com.. you can just select and copy and paste the objects into the half-life folder with the items.png
Even though it has nothing to do with the half life series other than being created by valve, could you make the cake into the portal cake? Also you could make the break animation it being dented. kind of like how when you smack the ground with the crowbar in HL2

Sure, I could try to do that :smile.gif: and actually, I had changed the breaking animation into random bullet holes, but I dunno if I like it :tongue.gif: I was thinking about uploading it onto here and getting other peoples' opinion on it.

Ok, I'm finished with the cake, I'll include it in the pack once I have some more updates, I don't feel like updating all the pictures and the link just for one thing XD
ok i have a big issue here... your .zip pack has a picture to show the texture pack when listed in texture packs when choosing packs ingame, but when i click it, minecraft completely poofs, not even "minecraft has encountered a problem and needs to close" appears... this needs MCPatcher doesn't it :sleep.gif:
actually i had to remove it from the texturepacks folder or every time i opened minecraft it would crash after Mojang screen

sorry, I probably need to add that you need MCPatcher >.< But yeah, you do need it. I'll go ahead and add that so there's no more confusion.

i got a problem too, how do i get the sounds to work. I downloaded the sound mod, do i put the sounds anywhere specific or should it work after installing the sound mod?

oh, sorry, I didn't really specify where they go :tongue.gif: well, you go into your minecraft folder, and you just replace the "resources" file with the one I gave you. and you should install audio mod before you do this.
is it risugami's audiomod? i downloaded his modloader, then his audio mod, then merged the resource folders and all that happens is the game is silent for about a minute before returning to the default sounds

yes it's his. (I think, lol :tongue.gif:) and that means that it was just replacing the custom files with the original ones. It means that you didn't install audio mod correctly. EDIT: Actually, I used Sound mod, I think they do the same thing, but here's the link for the one I use: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=141760#SME (it doesn't look like it's updated to 1.4_01 yet, so you might need to wait a while.
Overall I like this. However, some of the blocks I noticed didn't tile well, so I fixed that in GIMP. I also made the water contrast less and more blue. Here is the edited terrain.png, you can use my edited textures instead. In addition, I made a new side-grass texture with the dirt and grass textures.
In general, the water looks a bit odd. I'm not quite sure how to fix it, though maybe animating it may help? I understand you can do that, I think there was a tutorial on how posted recently and I probably bookmarked it, I can link you to it if you like.
I think my favorite thing thus far is the sand. It's the first time a wavy sand texture hasn't looked like **** to me, lol.
Also, something to keep in mind when downsizing large textures: if you just downsize the whole thing, it's normally apparent that they're tiled, because the little details, such as a gouge in a wall for example are all smushed together and they repeat quite often. My advise is to only crop a part of the large texture, preferably one without something like that, and tile it. (I didn't describe that well, did I? If that made no sense, tell me and I'll try again. I'm kind of out of it right now.)
Oh, also, I remembered two other things. I'm not quite sure how biome colors work, but I do know that normally, the grass textures are grayscale. Yours aren't, and I'm curious as to why. Maybe I should just look up how biome colors are applied?
And your leaves, too. You know how there were four blocks of them? The first two are usually the same, I think the right one is for normal graphics and the left is for fast graphics (ie has no transparency). Same goes for the bottom two.

Thanks! I'll go ahead and use your edited terrain.png :smile.gif:
about the water: I was actually thinking of just leaving it as the default minecraft water, I just saw it recently after I updated to the new minecraft version (you know, since you have to install your new texture pack everytime) and it looks quite nicer than I remember it looking :tongue.gif:
about the downsizing: I'm guessing you're talking about the brick and sandstone, right? :tongue.gif: yeah, I'll get on it. and I'll fix any other blocks that might have any stuff wrong with them that looks weird tiled. The brick had been bothering me for a while, but I was too lazy to change it :tongue.gif: oh, and actually, when I downsized the brick, you couldn't even tell what it was, so actually, the brick i'm using now is just part of the bigger piece :tongue.gif:
about the biome colors: I wanted to keep the original color of the grass, but I've noticed that it looks a bit strange :tongue.gif: I'll go ahead and grayscale it.
about the leaves: well, the leaves are the same, if you look closely, you'll noticed that all I did is rotate them :tongue.gif:
Thanks for your opinion, I like people telling me what they don't like about it so I can improve :smile.gif:

You're welcome. I hadn't actually seen any bricks or sandstone before posting my comment, though I did go and look after you mentioned them and the problem is quite persistent there. Another note on the sandstone, it's quite yellow, and it might be good to tone it down a little. I was actually thinking about the dirt, though. That dark spot just keeps repeating, and really, it doesn't look bad at all, it just shows it to be tiling. It should be a bit of a priority to change it, but not a high one, really.
As far as the watter goes, I'm pretty sure the original water won't look good with this, but you might as well try it. The water you're using now should stay up as an alt, though.
The color of the grass is nice, I admit. I'd recommend making custom biome colors, but I don't know how to do that, so I couldn't really help with it. I think I'm going to search it now, though, as I'm curious.
I also have a few more criticisms. The main one is that the ores don't blend with the stone at all. There's also the fact that cacti look strange, and that the gravel is just too much contrast, making it look bad up close and horrible from afar. I don't care for the pumpkin and I think the wood door looks out of place as well, however the textures themselves are fine (I actually really like the wood doors, they just don't match anything.)
I don't mean to sound rude with all of this. I really like this pack already. Maybe that's why I'm being so critical, though.
Thanks! I'll go ahead and use your edited terrain.png :smile.gif:

No, you aren't being rude at all. :tongue.gif:
1: I'll go ahead and make the sandstone paler
2: well, you fixed the dirt it seems, so we're good with that :tongue.gif:
3: I'll make an alt terrain.png that has my custom water. And hmm, maybe the original MC water would look better if I made it less blue?
4:I have no idea how to make custom biome colors (well, I do, but I suck at doing pixel work, if you didn't already notice :tongue.gif:), and actually, it's not that big of a deal, so I just gray-scaled the grass, looks good.
5: The cacti look strange because all it is is my custom bedrock that I dyed green, and then I scribbled black over it XD I'll make it look less "weird" :tongue.gif:
6:I'll try to make the gravel easier on the eyes.
7: I couldn't find a pumpkin texture from the game, so I just dyed the wood orange XD I'll try to find a more "pumpkiny" texture. :tongue.gif:
8: Yeah, I just grabbed the first wood door from the game I could find :tongue.gif: hmm... I'll try to find a more beat up one or something :tongue.gif:

A real hl2 fan would know that headcrabs drown :wink.gif: or is is just poison headcrabs... hmm... Anyways! I'm glad you like it :tongue.gif:
Ooh, I like it! I'll incorporate it in the pack :smile.gif: and of course you'll get credit. :smile.gif:
Edit: and oh, you put that you edited the diamond armor, but you actually edited the gold armor, just letting you know :tongue.gif:
alright :smile.gif: sounds cool and thanks!
