*1.7.3 Compatible* IMPORTANT: NEEDS XAU'S HD PATCHER TO WORK! (scroll to bottom for links to texture pack/ custom sounds) Well, I had decided to work on this for personal use, but once I finished, I decided to put it up on here for you guys to use it, or to provide criticism so I can improve it. I ripped the textures from the actual game using GCFscape, so these are the actual textures used in the game. Oh, and did I mention, I made some custom sounds for minecraft? ripped straight from hl2 sounds ;D (link at the bottom) YOU NEED SOUND MOD FOR THE CUSTOM SOUNDS TO WORK. PICS:

[1.5] Changed zombie to hl2 zombie (w/o headcrab on head) changed water to hl (half-life 1) water.

[1.4] changed pumpkin to watermelon, made coal more noticeable, and improved ores. changed cactus. changed door, and made alternates. made water back to default, and my custom water as an alternate. Changed brick and sandstone. Grayscaled the grass so it changes color from biome to biome. Changed cake to the cake from Portal.
[1.3] changed mossy cobblestone, changed bow and arrow to crossbow and bolts, made world model for bolts,
changed the icon (not the actual armor) for gold armor to HEV suit (made by earth949), changed break animation to bullet holes, changed some paintings.
[1.2] changed swords to crowbars, and changed shovels and picks.
[1.1] changed lava to sewage

I don't know how to edit items.png but if someone could either send a link or a tutorial on how to i would be willing to edit the items to the best of my ability to make them look like half life items

probably doesn't look like half life 2 because I shrunk the images so much, the original hl2 textures were about as big as the whole terrain.png XD but yeah, almost all of the textures were ripped directly from the game.

Well, first off, you need to get an image editing program :tongue.gif: (if you want a free one, use paint.net, it's pretty good :smile.gif: google it for the link) then you open my texture pack, and inside you will see a folder that says "gui". open that folder, and inside will be a file called "items" (or items.png) then you just open that picture up with paint.net and edit it :tongue.gif: but notice how each item is in it's own little invisible parameters. you need to stay inside that item's parameter, otherwise part of the item sticking out will be in another item :tongue.gif: Hope that helps! :smile.gif:

just a heads up, a quick 16x edit worked out for me, thanks for the help! I'm going to attempt working on 64x tools, including the wrench, so i'll keep you posted with progress, if there is any.

It may be ripped right from Half-Life 2, but stylistically it doesn't seem similar at all.
Fair enough. I still see the resemblance though. But, I guess that's just because I had to search through every texture to find the one I wanted. and another reason why it doesn't look like hl2 is because I had to resize the images so much. the original hl2 textures were just about as big as the whole terrain.png. and I had to shrink them to about 1/6 of their original size. I made them look as close to the original as I could. But hey, what can ya do.
I got the custom sounds up now :biggrin.gif: enjoy :tongue.gif: and remember, you need SOUND MOD or else when you start up minecraft, it will update and replace the custom sounds with the originals.
