I know how to make a normal texture pack, but I've searched around and I can't find anything on creating an HD texture pack. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using a Mac so any explanations for OSX would be preferred.
A HD texture pack is a higher resolution meaning that textures use moar pixels.
You can make an HD pack by resizing a normal terrain.png to whatever resolution they're doing. The resolution is tile size (32, 64, 128, or 256) X 16. For 32, it's a 512x512 resize. From there, Just draw over the tiles with a program like paint.net or gimp.

Wha? First of all you ninja'd me without my noticing somehow, and second, you didn't answer their question.
Jerk.
HD here are considered textures higher than 16px. For example, Mixcraft (32), Glimmar's (32).
They may of course not be Crysis like definition, but hell, it's Minecraft.

HD is a falsehood. Just means above 16x16. Sorry most people here can't get over the term.
this is all that needed to be said.. he was clear and to the point and answered their question considering they said they already know how to make a texture pack in general. the rhetoric WAS in fact unnecessary . and who gives a crap if someone answered before you? if you are looking for attention that bad go outside and meet real people. and calling someone a jerk for stating the obvious? douchebaggery

Jeez, some people don't know too much about the different resolutions. I was just explaining how to do it, because I suspect that the OP doesn't know how. So why don't you stop the douchebaggery.

Thanks. So can I just resize the other PNG files like items.png or sun.png?
Yep, that's what you do for all of them. Good luck, by the way.

Only Faust never actually answered OP's question, which was "how do you make a HD texture pack," not "what is a HD texture pack and let's argue the semantics of the term."
Spinbuilder answered him correctly.
Good luck OP.
