Here's a texture pack I've been working on (and will probably never really stop tweaking). I'm not much of a pixel artist myself, but I'm pretty good with photoshop, so I mixed, matched and edited some textures from Jolicoeur, doku, Eld, TomBones, Rhodox (kas) and JohnSmith, among others. I can't stress enough how talented this community is and how much enjoyment I've gotten out of Minecraft due to the incredible artists that are out there. Thanks for keeping the game fresh for me and I hope you enjoy this homage.
P.S. The reddish dirt texture, which I absolutely love, started out as Joliceour's 16x gorgeous, "scoopable" dirt. It took quite a few tweaks and photoshop filters to get the current look. He is a very talented artist who deserves a lot of praise for making a texture pack that really gives Minecraft a unique, palpable personality. If you haven't tried it out, get away from this page and go do it: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=176793
