Yes, you can. You can also download HD fonts off of the forums, i'm not sure where to go for that though.

My texture pack, when installed, includes a higher definition font. Try testing it out if you want.

(I find it funny that theres a "Congradulations: You Won!" ad on the top saying I'm the 100,000th visitor, when we have over 280,000 members)
