Ummm...That's not how you install texture packs. The most common way to install texture packs is like this:
1. Go to the start menu and search for %appdata% (yes, with the % signs)
2. Click on the folder called "Roaming"
3. Find the folder in "Roaming" named ".minecraft" and open it
4. Click on the "bin" folder in ".minecraft"
5. Click on the "minecraft" zip file in the "bin" folder. (the "minecraft" zip is also called "minecraft.jar")
6. Open the zip of the texture pack (in this case "red murk") and drag and drop ALL the files from the texture pack zip into the "minecraft" (or "minecraft.jar") zip. It will ask you if you want to overwrite some files in the "minecraft" zip. Click yes.
7. Start Minecraft!
8. If you want to revert to the original Minecraft textures, you must delete the ENTIRE "bin" file. Relax! This won't hurt Minecraft. When Minecraft next starts, it will redownload the "bin" file and put you back to normal minecraft! Just make sure you DON'T delete the entire ".minecraft" file as this contains all of your saves!
Not super practical as you cannot switch textures ingame, but I'm not sure anyone knows how to make it work so that you can switch ingame. Instructions are often posted on the Texture Pack page, so look there. Also, look through the posts as a lot of people have good advice or videos on how to fix glitches. Keep in mind that some HD texture packs like the LB Realism Pack require Xau's HD Patcher (found here: viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=46173) Or ModLoader (found here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=61032&hilit=303+modloader) Or else they will crash. It will always be stated on the texture pack's page if ModLoader or HD Patcher is needed! If Minecraft still crashes after installation and you don't know how to fix it, follow step 8. That's all there is to it!
