Yes yes, I know just what we all want, yet -another- simple pack.
Before you start jumping up and down and waving your arms though let me explain. My wife was having some problems playing minecraft. She kept getting headaches from the graphics so I set about making a texture pack that wouldn't cause her eye strain.
So very simple clean block designs. Most of these are entirely my own, but the workbenches, chests, and doors are modified graphics from the Mayday tileset for Dwarf Fortress. The bed is just a recolor of the original to have blue sheets. (The wife likes blue.)
So yea...
SCREENSHOTS!
Stone, cobblestone, dirt, iron and coal ore, some other stuff
Snow, trees, flowers, grass, the usual
Crafting stuff and signs
Wood stuff, glass, and a few rather large trees (Forester)
Obsidian portal
Netherrak, soul stone and the other side of the obsidian portal
And of course,
Download
For download links for this and the rest of my packs go to my Texture Pack Collection Thread. I've decided I'd rather just update the one thread.
Wow wasn't expecting people to like it this much :happy.gif:
I've lowered the contrast on the smooth stone a hair, added in the basic stone patterning behind the ores, and fixed the bed color. (It was green in the items.png, I made it the proper blue.)
The download link in the first post will always have the latest version, but for those who like things convenient, here it is again. Download

One more tiny update, I added the pack.png so it now has a proper icon and I changed the background pattern for the menu to make it easier to see when you have the pack picked.

Very nice texture pack. Easy on the eyes and adds more detail in a simple way (if that makes any sense). Btw, could you perhaps make a water and lava texture?
can you really call this simple since it isn't a fill bucket job? I admit I was worried when I looked at it but had a little faith in it considering who made it..lol it looks pretty good, you seem to have put a lot of thought into the texture patterns..good job

It started out as a massive blur job on the default textures with a little color adjustment (almost the same as a bucket fill but it left a slight shading in the tiles). Then I slapped some straight line patterns over it to give it a little interest. After that I went through the rest of my packs and pulled stuff that I thought would fit in for the more detailed blocks. (Aside from the modified Mayday tiles from a DF themed pack I never finished, there are tiles from Seamless Splendor, Metalcraft, and Baby's first Minecraft.) All total, it took me maybe three to four hours. So, yea, for me this is about as simple as it gets. <_<

Water and lava are not a very high priority. I would -like- to do them but they require a mod so that makes testing them problematic for me.

way to totally destroy my compliment! fine... "another simple pack..omfg make it go away!" hehe
LOL! Sorry, it just feels odd to be getting all these complements on a texture that I personally feel like I didn't put much effort into. (I am sooo my own worst critic.) I only really shared this pack at my wife's insistence and only when she pointed out that others might have the same problems with the game she does and this might help them.
I shall endeavor to take complements more gracefully in the future. :wink.gif:

I wouldn't have downloaded this...but for whatever reason...I love the regular leaves. Therefore I'll give it a shot.
I just thought I should point out I like your leaves.
Those leaves are actually from one of my WIP packs that I still haven't come up with a name for yet. viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=158358

lol two things though..
1: how you gonna admittedly make a crappy pack for your WIFE? hehehe
2: very smart for publicly admitting you listen to her :tongue.gif:
edit: if you haven't noticed by now...I have a messed up sense of humor...don't take 90% of what I say seriously :tongue.gif:
1. Hey now, I never said I thought the pack was crappy. (I actually use it now myself more than my other packs, but don't tell anyone I said that.) I just said I didn't spend much time on it compared to some of the others I've done. I really shouldn't be surprised though, the most downloaded pack I have by far is the 4x4 one I did as a joke when the HD stuff first started taking off.
2. The couch isn't terribly comfortable so I find listening to her leads to less back pain. :wink.gif:
3. I have no sense of humor because I GOUGED IT OUT WITH A SPORK AND ATE IT MUAHAHAAHAHA...
>_> Here, let me run off while I distract you with this creeper
Ps. Take a look at my username, I have that name for a reason you know. :wink.gif:

Btw great pack! Love the sand
A) The contrast on the smooth stone seems too harsh. The lines look too bright for the background.
:cool.gif: I like to have ores using the smooth stone as a base. Could you do that please?
Very cute pack.
