Every time I try, I can only draw pixels the same size as the ones used to make up the 16x16 image, how can I draw pixels to make a 32x32, or 64x64 texture pack?
Anyway, this is the wrong section.
But since I feel like wasting some of my time to help you, I will.
First off, the textures are 16x16. This means that if you want to make TWICE the resolution (32x32), the terrain.png must be scaled to be TWICE as large. (128 to 256)
If you want to test it, you must use a HD texture pack fix.
Or you could always use a more successful HD texture pack as a base, then scribble on that.

Remember:
Always give credit, though.
Not the wrong section...is the texture pack section
not 128 to 256.... (twice IS 32x32) or 64x64....
HD fix is a must....only true statement you made. (no scribbling needed)

Yeah, but the texture that I scalled is now really blurry so I can't tell where to draw.
You said it yourself...you cannot draw it yourself
You know what I mean, try stretching the image and telling me it's not blurred.
Oh and I've made a texture pack before so I do know how to draw it :biggrin.gif:
If it's too blurred, you've stretched a premade texture too much!!
How much do I need to stretch the default terrain.png by?
If you are aiming at 32x32, make a 32x32 size and go for it...stop stretching
So, I make a seperate image, then when I'm done I copy and paste it onto the terrain.png?
I actually tried this before but it kept the same resolution ):

I used John Smith's and Doku's as a template. When i did my own texture for dirt or whatever...I copied it and placed it exactly over their texture, then tested it. When i got enough done, I all but deleted their awesome work and had the vanilla behind it as an ugly reminder of what to do next.
No one said it was supposed to be easy....
