He might sound negative but I think Lilyo's just trying to help. Like he said, it's been done and failed before.
I think you should encourage people to post in the thread. Emailing seems weird and decentralized. Also, as it is a community pack, I think you should post the terrain.png, even if it's WIP.

Lilyo is right. This thread really needs to be more organized. It won't get by on positive attitude alone. Telling anyone who points out problems to stop posting isn't going to help it succeed.
All right guys, I was kind of harsh with Lilyo. Also, if you read the beginning post again, I said you could just post it on the forum. Also, the more people who do reply the more we will get! I'll be posting the winner of the smooth stone in a sec. Also, I'm going to put up the texture .png. If it's easier for people to just edit that and send it back to me I don't have a problem cutting/pasting in GIMP. I think that will help more people do things easier. Thanks for the turn out guys! I'll be posting sigs etc. etc. soon and tell your friends! If you guys have suggestions for what would make this thread seem more centralized/organized/better just tell me. I am open to change.

Anyways, I've a good deal to work on, but I'll look around and see if I can dig up some of my older textures I made and send them off. weekends are far to short now..
Also, for organization, put up a list of blocks that need to be made and when they're due by, organized by type or place in terrain.png, etc.

well if this is a compilation from others, I'd suggest quite a lot of painterly and eld's pack. And also switching things, like chest sides to wood planks etc.

I don't think yer gettin it. It's not a compilation pack like that. It will be done by a compilation of artists/creators. but not from packs already done and hacked together. He wants an actively growing project of new textures from people who want to call it "theirs".
If Eld or Painterly wants in...they'll say so. But no one's snagging textures from some one's already made packs.
