I just want to say again how much I love this pack. This quickly replaced Dokucraft for me! I really, really enjoy it. Even if it's not done! I look forward to its completion!
So, I've been experimenting with the new dye system for leather armor.
Unfortunately, this is as good as I can make it with the current limitations. Your best bet is to wear items of different colors. That, or say screw it all and only wear pimpin' purple armor from now on. XD
I could only improve this further if Dinnerbone decides to add a masking texture, so you can have armor parts unaffected by dye. That would allow me to add the trims and buckles back in.
If anyone could talk to Dinnerbone about this, I would be eternally grateful!
Hey, Wayuki, downloading this. That maggot is wonderfully creepy. Also, I love that golden cave spider too. Keep on the good work! (also, that golem is beautiful.)
The new monsters are not included yet in the current download, they will be for next version. Sorry about that!
I've been working on the snapshot stuff for a bit, so I wouldn't mind updating the pack for the snapshot at some point. The only problem is, this renders the download incompatible with the official version of Minecraft. So, I should probably hold off until 1.4 rolls around.
I cheat like a monkey!
The terrain really is 16x, but the mob skins are double res.
This works without having to patch, though I still strongly advise installing with MCPatcher for custom color support, custom water and lava, and some other things.
The texture pack looks amazing overall, the armor has to be the best I've ever seen. The testificates are wonderful and just a tad creepy. Only thing missing is the rest of the mob skins, but I'll just use some other texture pack's mobs for the time being.
"Iconic" isn't the same as "looks good" though. Seriously, the shading on the default is terrible bordering on nonexistant
So just create your own designs and ignore things like this, for one thing it might hinder your creativity a bit if you're hesitating to do certain things.
Oh yeah, nice Creeper by the way.
Maybe the green in the eyes could be glowy.......er?
Maybe having some green glowyness seeping out through some of the lines on the bark?
....do random mobs and have the Creeper resemble different types of log.
Heck, I think MC Patcher now allows biome specific mobs too. This idea would be perfect for that.
Pine log creepers for the snowy areas, oak and elm creepers in the normal areas, jungle log creepers in jungles and Cacti creepers in the deserts.
This so much. Really, don't let default hinder you, people who are rabid default fans won't like any other texture pack anyway.
Anyway, i love it
I think the problem with the eyes is that they don't stand out enough. The glow should be more intense.
The Creeper texture really is amazing, and all the praise is well deserved! Truly, when you look at it's face, you can see the tortured spirit of the forest captured in the wailing face and somber eyes. I can only imagine what the rest of the mobs will look like, especially the Endermen. If you can give each mob a sort-of "backstory" like what's present in the Creeper skin, then it really adds more to each of the monsters. Please, continue!

I know, right?
Still, it's also just hard to "unsee" the default design and come up with your own instead.

I tried eyes of different colors and intensities. I personally prefer a more muted look. I was going for somber more than truly evil.
It also works better with the ingame lighting, because the creeper doesn't have a real glow texture. When you start to see dark shading on an area that's supposed to look glowy, things get a little odd.

Oh, I totally thought of that! You can even have height specific mobs, allowing for cave creepers and mountain creepers. That said, this would be an enormous amount of work, so I rather get the other mobs textured first.
this is the only textpack i use any more. i just find it frustrating that i have been unable to change the char skin. i found a few skins i like at planet minecraft, clicked on the change my skin button, confirmed it and found out it wasn't changed when the website told me it was. iv'e even gone as far as dowloading the gif and replacing the char file. unfortunately when i do it reverts back to the default steve skin. if i try extracting the folder, replace the skin and re-compress to a zip, the texturepack reverts to the default minecraft textures. it's enough to make ghandi have a coronary.
edit: i fount out what i was doing wrong. instead of compressing the files contained within the textpack file, i was trying to compress the textpack file itself. major herp-derp moment there.
The torch particles are already custom!
Oh, I forgot to patch, sorry! :C

Phew! Disaster averted!
I double checked the download, but the icons are in there! I'm confused now.
It's in the download, though!

I'm working on that one!
On that note, here's a preview of.... *drumroll*.... The creeper!
I was kinda scared to tackle this one, because the original is so iconic. Hopefully I didn't botch it!
Oh, and it's the vengeful spirit of a felled tree, in case you're wondering.
In other news, you guys really need to check out this awesome server:
Metacraft has become the official server for the Wayukian Pack!
I really like the originality of the creeper! I can't wait to see a complete pack with all the mobs!
The dragon texture is the best I have ever seen and I use an edited version for my personal pack.
Anyway, i love it

...But that's just my opinion.
My DeviantART, requests welcome.

Do you play on this server Wayuki o.O?
