I don't think this pack look 32x, I mean, every pixel stand out so much if you look closely, they're not smeared out.
I agree that this pack doesn't look 32x32 at all. A 32x32 tile has 4 times the amount of pixels, so if you make good use of that, you can do 4 times the amount of detail.
For instance, look at any of my textures that have a skull on it. At 16x16, I can barely make it look like one, you have to use your imagination for a bit. Then compare to Doku's pack for instance, who also has skull ornaments in his pack, and how much more he was able to do with it! :ohmy.gif:
Anyways, my goal has always been to get as much shading and detail as possible out of a 16x16 pack! :laugh.gif:

This is officially my goal too! So far I'm making good progress too (on all my new textures anyway). I'm gonna try and push the limits of 16x res and make everything as detailed, while still minecrafty and stylised as it possibly can be.
@Leo, I wouldn't say yours looks like a 32x pack either because it's how you use the space you get to work with for each block... You're very skilled with 16x textures and so your textures look better than most, which means (for me, anyway) you would need to compare your work to someone similar in the 32x res department! Someone like Glim or Feathers and they can really fit a lot more detail into their packs than we can... :biggrin.gif:
16x is still my favourite res though. I like to see what people can do with the space constraints and I just really like the pixely style too!
Basically I just said what Wayuki said, but with more words and a worse explanation... Well done, me!
i say wayuki is the best of them at the 16x level, its not just by how much hi ress it looks its how the whole pack fits within itself there is no texture that goes against another in the pack they all blend really nicely that imo is what makes this pack so good.
Nope, it's not. I believe they are using a customized Painterly pack for that particular episode... at least I think it's customized, because I don't remember ever seeing that snow golem as an option for the Painterly pack. Perhaps it came with the adventure map they were playing.
As I was about to start on a mob texture, I noticed a new bug with the way the texture shows up on the model. As some of you already noticed, the cow's behind appears upside down in the game. That's not the only problem though, because on all of the segments that make up all mob models, the bottom face is upside down. You can see it on the animal's feet for instance, their hooves are on backwards! :blink.gif:
I made a bug report on Getsatisfaction, please help me getting it noticed! Here's the link:
Yeah, in that case the glow will be at the front of its mouth instead of at the back of the throat, and its hands and feet will be backwards! I'd like to think that they would notice that though, especially because the enderdragon boss fight is going to be such an important feature for the Minecon release. :laugh.gif:
Wayuki, just gotta say that your texture pack is like a guide book on texturing. If I notice something I'm making is looking weird or odd I can just check your texture pack. I never managed to make fire looking good, but when I checked your texture pack I realized what was wrong. Now it looks great! :smile.gif:
But anyways, glad to hear you're working on mob textures!
Another thing that really helps is to look up photo reference. The more you study real world items, the better you will be able to accurately portray them. You can't draw something if you don't know what it really looks like! :laugh.gif:
I've been so distracted from Minecraft. From Black Ops to Dead Island to re play of Kingdom Hearts to MW3. And I'll likely then go to Skyrim, if not to Assassin's Creed to Uncharted 3. Too many epic games out in the same season. Even dragons and this pack can't bring me back to Minecraft.

Haha, I wish! :laugh.gif:

Thanks Dusty! Glad to know they're working on it. :smile.gif:
I hope they realize they do have to fix the enderdragon texture after that. :laugh.gif:
The wood planks look nice and have a "homely" feel. My only problem is with the stone, it looks a bit streaked, but I think I can deal with it.

Curse PremiumAt least you haven't been distracted by Skyrim like I have...
I haven't even looked at minecraft since it came out, let alone textured anything!
