And ofcourse the Ender realm stuff when that comes out. Good thing I didn't work on the air portal stuff yet, I just noticed they already changed the way it looks and works! :huh.gif:
Things get changed very quickly by notch in recent days. Keep up the good work, and ignore the ignorant. There is only so much time in the day. You can only a lot so much to your hobbies. When your pack is released will it be compatible with 1.8.1? Thanks again for all your hard work.

So whats air portal and ender realm? I haven't heard about that yet. But, heads up Wayuki, notch posted pics on twitter about a dragon, so you might wanna think about that. :biggrin.gif:
Well you're still pounding through your textures faster than me and no doubt better than me, but hey, you're a professional so at least I have some excuse!
I'll get back to texturing my pack now, the update is now 4 weeks late. (from when I said I'd release it)
PS: That guy/girl up there, being a bit of an ass, obviously hasn't tried making a texture pack before... If he/she had, I'm sure they wouldn't be so demanding of you!
ROFL
I was honestly just trying to get my opinion across, and it would seem (as the internet always does) that you all took it wrong...
And no, you won't get rid of me.
I put the end lines their for the pure fact of I was trying to avoid aggrivating people...
We are in the modern day, able to voice your OPINION! (Freedom of Speech)
It doesn't need to be shot down, and NONE of you need to get all pissy about it.
Why would I go "yell" at Frenden, I appreciate every texturer and their work, I was putting my thoughts across, in no way did I intend to "demand" or "yell" at Wayuki (I love her work)
All I was trying to get across, was - in MY opinion that modders/graphic makers should keep the things updated (I understand it takes time) but each update should still be there for the community (weather its out a day before 1.9 or a day after, it should still be there to download and use - for reasons I stated in other posts)
But look its HER choice of what she does, and its MY opinion.

That's fair enough, it's just the way you said it made it seem a bit demanding and like the actual artists didn't get a choice in the matter, it had to be updated because the fans want it to be, not whether the artist wants to/has time to or whatever... :tongue.gif:

Yeah it was about 1 in the morning here when I posted, I was tired and I just read it and realised its worded like I was demanding.
VERY SORRY EVERYONE! :smile.gif:
But on the plus side - me voicing my opinions (and poor wording) was bumping the thread, than all you guys getting annoyed kept bumping it, meaning the potential for more downloads/support/views/more bumps increased.
So we all did a small favor for Wayuki :biggrin.gif:
It makes no sense to release something, only to have it be out of date again a day or two later. :blink.gif:
It also doesn't make sense to withhold release of something if it is as complete as it needs to be
what I'm saying is that if you finish the 1.8 textures before 1.9 is out you should release them, we have no idea how long 1.9 will be in development for so holding off seems silly. Just because we have all these prereleases doesn't mean it'll be released soon, I'm actually expecting either a Halloween release date or have it be on 11/11/11.
That said, WHAT you actually texture is up to you, you're the artist so you should be able to choose whatever you feel like making, just don't hold out on us if you do finish 1.8, okay? .w .
Also, I'm a professional texture artist, normally I get paid to do stuff like this. I'm lucky my employer even allows me to put out free textures.
That's a very silly thing to say, that's basically like saying that all of your art belongs to them even when its irrelevant to their products, kind of like if a professional sports player weren't allowed to play their sport in their free time for fun.
I am interested in what projects your art has/will be in though.

You'd be surprised how many contracts in the games industry specifically state you're not allowed to work on modding projects, indie projects and additional freelance work! It's not "silly", it's in fact a harsh reality for many production artists. Unfair, yes, but that doesn't mean I'm making it up!

I did most of the character models and a good chunk of the character textures. Out of the six characters on the home page, I modeled all except the bearded dude, and I textured all the chicks.

NICE! You have real talent!
This explains why your texture pack is so good lol

We all understand that. Nobody is bashing you for holding an opinion or anything, whether it's popular or not. What you need to understand is that you can't go through life going, "Well, that's just my opinion." There's a time to keep your mouth shut and a time to speak up, and speaking up about that is not your place in anyone's texture pack thread. Also, making up invisible "rules" that are just things you're saying to try and get the modder to release their stuff more quickly is an incredibly wrong thing to do.
That said, I'm glad you apologized. Brings my opinion of you back up, because a lot of people wouldn't do that.
Oh, and texturepackstuffhereisweari'montopic and stuff.
@ Leostereo: I didn't do much work on the levels, only the characters. I did a creepy tree texture and a pile of leaves, that's about it. :laugh.gif:
@ OneManStanding: I would need the okay from my company to post pictures like that. Would you like to see wireframes for some models I did in my free time?
Well, you can thank ds777fighter for pointing me here. Apparently you have heard of me or something. :smile.gif:
Anyway. This is literally the best 16x pack I have ever seen. I could tell by looking at your skins that you are a character designer before I read through the pages.
I have said before on another thread that one of the things that makes a quality pack is if it looks like a higher resolution than it actually is. If I didn't know better I would almost say it was 64x just going from the screenshots in the OP.
I love the color choice for the most part; however, I really don't like neon teal water. Never have. I will probably just recolor it for my personal use because I am sure your animation is amazing.
I am going to download this even though it isn't updated to 1.8 and give it a test drive.
I guess my color choices can be a bit unusual at times, and I like teal for some reason. It's something I picked up from the pixel art community. Either way, I tried to make sure the different building materials color coordinate really well, so everything goes with everything, basically. It's important I think, because I like to create buildings with trims of contrasting materials a lot. :smile.gif:
And sure enough, I've seen you around. You are a very prominent member afterall. :wink.gif:
I tend to lurk in the shadows a bit more. :laugh.gif:
So, during the weekend I did the following stuff:
- Brewing stand
- Enchantment table
- Spellbook
- Alchemy GUI
- Enchantment GUI
- Potion bottles
I still have to do the following:
- Cauldron
- Meat products
- Magic ingredients
- Potion buff icons
And ofcourse the Ender realm stuff when that comes out. Good thing I didn't work on the air portal stuff yet, I just noticed they already changed the way it looks and works! :huh.gif:

I'm not withholding anything, it's simply not finished yet.

The most recently released game that I worked on was HoopWorld for the Wii. You can check it out here:

I like everything else color wise, and I understand the choice of color for the water. It works. Just not my thing.
Pure opinion. :smile.gif:
