I use paint.NET and simple create a new image with a 128x 128 canvas and paste the 16x image there. Then I just drag it so it matches the 128x canvas. But you must select "pixelated" in the upper left corner to make it clean and not blurry. :smile.gif:
Interesting. Was never a fan of Paint.NET. I use a site called Sumopaint. It's a decent tool, based on
the appearance of photoshop, but it misses a few prominent features, noticeable from sites like
Gimp and Paint.Net.
In Photoshop at least, you can simply upscale a 16x16 image to 128x128. If you use the "nearest neighbor" setting, it will retain pixely crispness. :smile.gif:
Anyway, good work guys, glad I could inspire! :laugh.gif:
Glad to hear youre finally better! Im also glad that the next update is on it's way, I wont have to use my hacked together version of the pack now, it was sorta missmashed, I did make a kinda neat AllItems.png for it though
While I'm here I wanna make a few small criticisms if you don't mind.
I dont really like the textures for the gold block, the lapis block, and the ladder, I mean the art for them is great but with the way oreblocks are used the gold one often gets repeated a lot as like a floor or wall and your texture for it is really more meant to be an accent rather than a pattern (perfect example is a gold pyramid I built in alpha, I think you can imagine how it looks with your gold block texture). The Lapis one I dislike because it's more grey than blue, which would be fine if you were building with this pack in mind but most people use it because its a big blue thing (and easier to work with than blue wool). Finally, the problem with the ladder is that I keep mistaking it for the minecart rails, I actually took off the second and last rung in the texture, while that makes it look sorta weird in your inventory it doesn't look bad when building and it makes me be able to tell the two apart, that said it would be really easy for you to change the ladder texture a bit to distinguish from rails, so I hope you consider that.
Anyway, nitpicking aside I really do adore this pack and cant wait to see more~
I indeed intended the gold and lapis blocks to be accent textures. I figured it would be really hard to get enough gold and lapis to build entire structures out of, so I made them more like little decorations. Each of these blocks matches with another, easier to get block. For instance, the gold block matches with the iron block. So, you could build a trim out of iron blocks, and put a gold block in there every now and then. You could also build pillars out of glowstone or obsidian, and put a gold block at the base and top.
The lapis block might seem a bit strange, but it actually tiles with the half-steps. So, you could build a trim out of halfsteps, and put in a lapis block every now an then. That will end up looking like a marble trim with blue gems set into it.
You didn't mention the diamond block, but this block will actually tile with the glass blocks.
So indeed, if you build big structures out of these materials, it will look quite strange, but if you use them as intended, you'll be able to make some really nice decorative trims.
As for the ladders and rails, I don't really have trouble telling them apart. I have already tried different spacings on the rungs, but I kinda like this one best.
This is probably my favorite Minecraft texture pack! I really like the coloring, and I've found it works perfectly for most adventure packs (which I love to romp through with my friends).
My only possible issue is what Baekara mentioned above. When playing SMP like it's meant to be played, diamond or gold blocks are so infrequently made that what you've done makes complete sense. However, I see a lot of map makers or build servers use these blocks to make grand structures, or for coloring. The current style of gold, diamond and especially lapis blocks makes some of these structures turn out looking strange when I'm using your texture pack. As such, for certain adventure maps and servers which frequently tile those rare blocks, I usually end up having to switch to a texture pack that handles these textures more conventionally (only temporarily though, I always come back!).
With that said, I'm not necessarily suggesting you change anything, since your pack looks just absolutely gorgeous the other 95% of the time.
Anyway, I just want to thank you for making such a great texture pack, and I really hope you continue to support it through as many future Minecraft patches as you can! I'm eagerly awaiting the 1.8/1.9 version :smile.gif:.
Well I really cant argue when you've put that amount of thought into it, I might have to look into building with these more then, although with dummkopf's further reasoning maybe you would consider including an alt for those situations?
I will consider making alts, but first I want to texture all the missing stuff, such as the mobs and the paintings. Making just one version of everything is taking up enough time for now, LOL! :laugh.gif:

Oh
Yes paintings
I want to see what sort of art you have when it comes to not making environmental textures
Since 1.9 is so close to release, I intend on lumping the 1.8 and 1.9 updates together. I'll try to get as much prerelease stuff done as possible on the weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to release the pack shortly after the 1.9 version gets finalized. Keep in mind though that I'm mostly confined to weekends for working on the pack.
