Hello, people of the Texture Pack forums. You probably don't know me, since I haven't made any texture packs, nor have I commented much. I'm not sure if I have any artistic ability whatsoever, so throw at me whatever you need to say so I can improve. I would like to integrate into your community.
As you read, no title yet. We need to work on that. But enough of the details. PICTURES.
A kinda sorta good view of night-time, in the snow biome.
A sunset, with a view of a cliff and some stone
A close-up, with my stone house and a crater I made via creeper
A cave system and some torches that I still haven't gotten to yet...
Stuff to do:
-Finish up the terrain.png (Yeah, I didn't finish it...)
-Start working on the Mobs
-Start working on the tools/icons
-Get some help from other people on how to do this stuff
-Have fun *check*
I'll be posting the terrain.png soon (hopefully...), I need as much help as I can get, so please, please don't be shy.
When I first looked at the first picture I wasn't sure if anything was different, but then, it's hard to differentiate white from white.
The dirt texture has really noticeable tiling, easily visible in the second picture. Try to darken the bottom edge, specifically, to bring it in line with the rest, unless of course that's what you're going for.
The gravel would be very difficult to differentiate when in a dark area, which isn't really a problem, but it looks a bit more wet and flowing than I feel like gravel ought to.
I'm enjoying the style of your cobblestone, but it's a bit blue for my tastes, and doesn't really match the color of smoothstone at all. The mortar is nice, but would probably need to be darkened (or lightened) if you changed the bricks themselves.
I like the smoothstone texture in caves, but I feel like it wouldn't be as good a choice as the cobble when building, for aesthetic purposes. Perhaps try to find a middle ground between being shaped by time and hewn by hand.
The glass bordering is nice, but I would like to see less diagonal lines and more visibility. Also, consider a slightly longer window in your door, as the current one would restrict too much downward visibility for my tastes.
As for what hasn't been finished yet, I do have some suggestions.
Make sure that your armor isn't just a recolor or slight edit. This is one of the most disappointing things for me about the default textures.
The mobs don't necessarily need to be bloodbuckets, but they don't need to be teletubbies either. I'm sure you already know this.
Anyway, great work. I hope the project makes it to completion, but stay open to non -craft names for it, since those are all over the place anyway.

Seems like I have some work to do. I guess I have a lot to learn!
Thanks for your help. I'll be working to improve right now.
