Wanted to recreate some of the levels from the first Half Life game. To make it look decent, I decided to make a pack with some ripped textures from the game. Was wondering if it would be worth putting up a download for it, that is if anyone would be interested. Not very much is done yet, its a very early WIP.
Entrance on the Black Mesa Research Facility(anamolous materials part anyways) Looking down the hall where you come from when yuo get off of the tram thing.
First room when you come in
Hallway leading to the rest of the facility
Me battling headcrab zombies with my crowbar
HEV suit and Gordon glasses
That room with all of the computers in it
Thought the ducts and windows(Ice) looked pretty cool
It's excellent! I would suggest you make the Nether Xen.
However, instead of Gordon's glasses, why not make the HEV Suit helmet? The one that the guys on Xen had.
Hah, you just said the exact same things I was going to say :tongue.gif:. Nether should be Xen, and change the glasses to the HEV helmet. By the way, the armor texture is for what armor? Leather, diamond, etc? And is it the same for all armors or do you plan on making one for each too? Could start with a lab coat (just an idea), then the diamond armor would be the entire HEV suit.
By the way, this is awesome, it is really good, perfect screenshots :smile.gif:. I hope you keep doing this, zombie is great too. What item is the crowbar (I was going to say pickaxe, but after thinking a while I think sword fits it better?).
Also the images showing the item on the inventory of the HEV suit are kinda weird, they don't fit on minecraft style, maybe you could make it a little bit better. Yes, I know this is very early in progress, I'm just giving ideas.
And if you can you could tell us what block is what now. For example, what are the monitor and the world map (I'm guessing paintings?).
I will make the HEV helmet replace the glasses, was just being lazy. And yeah, Xen as the nether is a good idea. Ghasts are going to be Nihilanths and I think zombiepigman will be Gmans, can't really make anything else Gman. Maybe skeletons will be soldiers.
The Hev suit is currently leather, I am going to make it diamond though. Lab coat is a good idea for leather, was going to make iron the body armor and stuff the security guards wear. The crow bar is currently a pick, was thinking sword, but figured it was better for smashing stuff (even though its a weapon in game).
The computer monitors are pumpkins/jackolanterns. I wanted an actual computer block to place around. The map is a painting, the big door is a painting, and I have other screens/computer stuff as paintings. Also vending machines, the first aid things, and the HEV power supplies.
At the moment the pack is pretty much just so I can decorate/make the research facility. Making a functional pack with everything replaced for standard minecraft play will be difficult.
It's a nice texture pack. However a Half-Life recreation is already underway FYI.
There's other videos by camerond0 that are from the same project. I think they're somewhere in Blast Pit at this point.
the last half life pack i got wouldn't let me play the game when i turned it on so i hope this one works and that it is very creepy and suspense and thats all i hope is for this one to work because the pack im using now is a zelda texture pack and it gets kind of boring after a while
Hey dude, I just wanted to let you know that I love what you have made in your Half Life texture pack so far, way cool. I am a huge HL fan and I love the work that's been done. I do have one question though. Are the weapons and items supposed to look like they are from Zelda( as of the current version)? I think somehow the pack got messed up during installation because all my weapons/tools are Zelda style as well as some of the inventory items. If thats just what you are using for placeholder then that's cool, just wondering if I did something wrong.
