It is helpful because if you wanted to make a video of some sort or an intro or something you could fill a minecraft house or really anything and then swap out the background its only helpful for people that are uploading minecraft videos
Think of what they do with real green screen. Then look at this. Not that hard to understand really. The possibilities seem cool for the video makers and such.

I'm not sure I fully understand either. Does this make it possible to place Minecraft elements, like mobs, etc. into other movies? Would be cool and allow for some very amusing vids! :smile.gif:

You use software to make every pixel in a narrow color range (the green wool color) transparent and then put another image in the background.
It generally works great, unless the subject you are filming happens to wear a green shirt of just the wrong shade. >_>
(One time the local weatherman did that, his torso was partially transparent when he stepped in front of the weather map. It was most amusing.)

Thanks for the great explanation! The only problem is minecraft has a lot of green in it that's why I recommend the blue screen if your editing software can do bluescreens.
