For my the folder is atleast called as "bid". Just dl the hd installer thing, the texture pack and that all rdy done thing thats linked in text. Put the stuf linked in text to the bid folder, then have the texture pack as packed into texture pack folder.
ok i patched using the hd "thing" and still no folder, should i just make a folder in .minecraft called "bid"?? and throw those two shader files in there?
I don't know where he gets 'bid' from, but you need to open the minecraft.jar with 7zip or something, and copy the shader files into minecraft.jar\shaders
Hey I've followed the instructions multiple times but yet it always gets frozen on the loading screen. I run MCpatcher first, then run and install the shader mod, the part I have trouble with is adding the base.fsh and base.vsh to the Minecraft.jar. I open it up so I can view the files and I go in and replace the original base.fsh and base.vsh and I then rename the folder to Minecraft.jar so that minecraft reads that one like I used to do when installing mods. What exactly am I doing wrong?

There is another way to get the shaders working:
you don't put the base.fsh and .vsh in the Minecraft.jar.
Instead you put these two in the "\mods\shaders\contents\files\shaders\" folder of the daxnitro-shader-installer before patching.
hope this helps.
Hmm I did as you said which was a lot easier then going in the Minecraft.jar. I ran MCpatcher first and then I ran daxnitro-shader-installer with the two added bases, but when I open up Minecraft the 128 hd texture pack is still grey? What would I be doing wrong?
Oh I see that even if its grey on the Minecraft texture list doesn't mean it doesn't work...well I chose it and logged into my world and this is what happened? No idea what it's doing
After many hours of pixel pushing, here's a preview of some new items. I'm particularly fond of the new arrows (mojang never got their arrow heads right):
I've done custom parts for the watch, and proper re-skins of the arrow models themselves (they match the icons). Fellow mario fans will recognize the feathers as well. Note that unless you run the game at a super high resolution (at least 1600 vertical), the items in inventory slots won't be at full detail due to downscaling. However items on the ground (ie, bobbing with shadows under them) will appear just great.
As for terrain, I've done new water and lava from scratch (previously tinted versions of Aza's), making terrain officially pirate-free (And leaving just the sign model, overall). As for mojang tiles, all that's left to do are the 4 leaf blocks, sugar cane, and tilled soil. Leaves are gonna suck, but chances are I can find a nice leaf sprite sheet somewhere, and work off of that. [Ed. Leaves are done and mapped, and turned out to be a lot easier than I expected. Came out looking a little chunky, but I'm getting used to them.] Oh, here's the new sugar cane [ed. And leaves!!!], done entirely from scratch [Leaves are based on edited picture files]:
I'm also working on new armor sets, which may or may not be ready for the next release. The first edition will probably just be different colored versions of the same texture set, but eventually I plan to have each type use different skins. Baby steps!
*ed* I just reworked the top post a little, and enumerated the 'installation' section a bit. Should help some of you who've been confused.
*Ed. 3* I just finished making the 'tilled soil' textures, and the results came out great. This also marks the last of the mojang textures, making the terrain 100% original (and HD!):
The pack looks amazing, for starters. I had been looking for something exactly like this to give my game a slightly better appeal. Plenty of other appearance mods out there, but none of them ever caught my attention. Fantastic work.
Now for the bothersome part. The game keeps lagging up to outright freezing when I open up a workbench or inventory. It doesn't happen every single time, but that is the only times it happens. Whenever something has to pop open, it will generally freeze up. Any idea what is wrong? Should I try to track down an inventory GUI replacement?

Each of the tool menus is 2048x2048, which eats up quite a bit of video memory (I recommend a newer video card w/ at least 256Mb memory. Mine has 896). I think newer versions of McPatcher support having multiple resolutions in one pack; I'm considering making a 'lite' version of my pack where unnecessarily large textures like these are scaled down where possible. I might even do a 64x version, though the conversion tends to be time consuming.
I'm on a gig video card, it should not be running out of memory.
As I figure, I should probably just retexture my GUI for inventory and things back to default, while keeping all the rest of the texture pack. Should resolve the issue, right?
It's good this texture pack is getting proper attention :-) Those new textures look amazing. Keep it up!
I put out a second video to show daytime footage of it, as well as many blocks I missed, since people requested the footage:
I'll be doing more videos using your texture pack, but they'll be to highlight my creations or Minecraft ideas, not the texture pack itself...pending the fixing of my computer. It started randomly shutting down a week before I even tried HD texture packs, and got progressively worse until it won't boot up at all. Could be a CPU cooling problem, or PSU.
In any case, the computer is 4 years old, and it's processor was weak even when I built it (1.6 ghz dual core). It has 2 GB RAM and a Geforce 8800gt. The computer ran the game perfectly smoothly with your texture pack and shaders in full screen, so I hope that can dispel the myth of these effects only being able to run on amazing rigs.
Ghost2, never you mind my issues. I decided to clear Minecraft and start fresh. Took a couple installs for whatever reason, but now it is working flawlessly without crashes and without lag.
Hey - Can someone seriously help me? I can't use this pack at all without finishing these steps, and I don't know what I'm doing! :sad.gif:
I put some slightly more verbose install instructions in the top post (follow the nubered list).
I'll be doing a big update to this pack in a couple days, I just want to do a few more items (like bows and signs), as well as a few more gui things. Terrain.png is now all original, I just need to do normals for the new wood door (the crappy one is gone!), and perhaps better normals for the top of the crafting table and planks, both of which always seemed kinda noisy to me. The new leaves (see link) are fully mapped and look great (and fluffy!) up close, though the non-pine ones tend to take on a 'leathery' appearance as you back away, similar to painterly's dirt. You get used to it though. As I mentioned earlier, the rainbow trees are gone (though still available to those with image editors), and I'm gonna start numbering each release (the next one will probably be revision 4). You won't have to muck about with zip files either, since there will be just one big version, and later, a 'lite' version that shrinks down some of the 'overly large' textures like menus.
I have the texture pack and all of the other features installed and everything but it lags terribly. I have a 256mb video card and I can't run it with the Shaders at all or I simply can't even move. I can manage without them, but it still lags enough to make me not want to have the HD. Is there anything that I could change in order to reduce lag?
So, first off, awesome job. Was running around with this last night and am loving it.
Great to see an update for more of the textures too.
Now for a simple question, how much of the install process needs to be redone to have rev.4 working?
I'm assuming just use the new terrain.png's? Or is there more?
I've just done a major update (r4.1), and have rewritten the top post. Highlights include the addition of original item icons, a completed terrain.png, carts/boats/signs, gui elements, smaller file sizes and bug fixes. The pack is now 100% original (and Mojang). The new version is released as one big zip, so there should be no need to mess with pngs. If you already have shader mod set up, you just need to download the new zip and copy it over the old one. See top post for more info.
Due to an error somewhere between my computer and my chair, I had originally uploaded a semi-corrupt version of this update(lots of transparency artifacts, bad terrain_s) which was up for about and hour or two before I could replace it. The correct terrain.png should say 'Version 4.1'.
I don't know where he gets 'bid' from, but you need to open the minecraft.jar with 7zip or something, and copy the shader files into minecraft.jar\shaders

but is that "blurry effect" supposed to be there? it kind of hurts my eyes
Hmm I did as you said which was a lot easier then going in the Minecraft.jar. I ran MCpatcher first and then I ran daxnitro-shader-installer with the two added bases, but when I open up Minecraft the 128 hd texture pack is still grey? What would I be doing wrong?
When I click the Bordercraft 128x128 texture pack though after a few seconds it changes from grey to this
I run MCpatcher and then I run the Shader mod with the two fixed bases added in but it just does the white effect to my world
