I really like this. He's my bug reports and suggestions:
Since copying in your new terrain.png the dirt with grass on top is having weird specular glitches at its side as seen in the screen shot. (I have better grass enabled, is this an issue?)
Logs look just weird, though their rainbow look may be on purpose (Rainbow Eucalyptus? Like in your 16x16 texture pack?). I think it'd be nice to provide an alternative version of the log that looks more normal (I have a winter lodge this completely ruins the decor for), this is the only big reason why I'm hesitant to keep using the pack.
You probably have tabs on the stuff you still want to do, but redstone torches and their components for the repeaters are pixelated.
Overall, great work so far! This is by far the best HD texture pack attempt to use special shaders. I think with a few tweaks it could become really popular!
I got similar glitches when I tested this latest version too.. I'm having the same issues trying to use a terrain_s with my new _nh(which I finally figured out btw...lol)
I've just got around to releasing a proper 1.5 patch that fixes the sidegrass and other normals, as well as adding webs (which might've been ommited in the last patch). You can get the patch here: http://www.mediafire.com/?z47h4fkxtuzh9os
The new track normals are just copy pastes of the old straight track, so there might be a few minor artifacts, but since track normals are hit and miss anyway, it shouldn't be much of a problem. I've also added all the resources for webs (item 30), including normals, so that should work just fine. Finally, I've included alternate patterns for the iron/gold brick (the normals are crummy), and a more standard-looking tree texture (give it the normals from the pines).
The next version of this pack will be a full update, likely including items and possibly armor (I have the iron curiass partially done, using oblivion textures). I have about a dozen items remade, with the remaining items scaled using an HQ4x filter. I'm also looking into better water textures and a few other things. Enjoy!
dunno if you have an aversion to gimp...or can find similar plugins for whatever program you use.. but the scripts/plugins I posted on this thread (with a tut you probably don't need) viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=185685 make custom animations ridiculously easy..(unless you are like me and combine 15 different animations to get the end result) I think your pack would be even more awesome with custom water/lava/portal animations.
Hi, ghost, this looks amazing.
I can get it to work, but not the 3d. I have everything working, but when I put the patches in the original (main) download, it dosent recognize it as it did before and I only get the blocks themselves as your texture. I open up the main download, put the terrain files into it, replacing the original ones, and then re compress it. I am running on a mac 10.6.3.
I am having a little bit of a problem.
The top of the blocks seem to be floating off the actual block. Also when looking at the chests from an angle you can see the key lock from the front in between it and the next block. Any fixes?

<Khusa> the creepers are baby dragons
<Gunmage> Instead of spitting out fire they hold it in until they burst like balloons
<Lisimba> So if you would give a creeper a laxative, would it turn into a real dragon?
Hey Ghost, love the pack. I CAN NEVER GET DAX's thing working though. I have it all installed. and i am able to get it going because i see the blur affect. I just want the bumpmapping so bad. could you please post what i should put in the mods/shaders/source file? after you have edited it to work. my brain doesnt understand code, and editing that file is impossible for me! all i really want is the 3d effect none of that blurryness. hope this isnt too much of a bother. i guess anyone could post it. thanks for the help guys!
this mod looks great, however, after installing this, my netherack dungeon/mob trap has stopped working altogether. 1. how do I uninstall this?
2. I tried using one of the backups but that did not work.
All the edge artifacts are just the way that shader mod works, and has nothing to do with my pack. When it renders each fragment, It assumes that it's a 'seamless tiling' texture and does a wrap-around effect. Chests and sidegrass suffer the most from this. As for the rail/redstone/bed/etc, the shader mod assumes that all textures are oriented in a certain way. But in the case of 'rotated' textures like those just mentioned, the normal mapping loses it's accuracy, and you get those weird bright/dark patches, depending on your view angle. Height mapping doesn't work right on these surfaces either, so that's why they're 'flat looking'. As far as wood, you'll have to edit the 1.5 patched terrain.png, and move the new wood over my older, rainbow wood. The source panel is located 2 slots below diamond block. Because you're so busy, I've done it for you (copying the pine tree normal so it looks right, is left as an exercise for the reader). Future versions of this pack will feature the 'standardized' log as default. In the meantime, here's a preview of my new flintsteel and diamond sword instead:
This pack looks very nice, but I can't get it to apply. When selecting the pack in Minecraft, the game closes after a minute, and this is the error I get in the log in MCPatcher when testing MC when the pack is selected. Any ideas? I followed the install guide exactly.

Very cool pack, although I can't seem to install it correctly. Also, fullscreening the game causes my view to go crooked. Is this what you do?
1. Install HD Texture Fix.
2. Install shader mod.
3. Overwrite shader mod with custom files you offered.
4. Place textures in Minecraft's texture folder.
Because that's what I've done, and it doesn't appear to work correctly.

The base.fsh and base.vsh go into minecraft.jar\shaders.
The main zip goes (un-decompressed) into the .minecraft\texturepacks folder. Next open the zip you just moved, and replace the terrain*.png files with those in here. This will make it compatible with 1.5. Finally, if you'd preffer a more 'standard looking' tree texture, instead of my 'rainbow' trees, you can merge in the terrain.png from this final zip.
Sorry everything is so patchy, but I'm trying to avoid 30mb uploads until I do the next proper update. I'm currently working on items, armor, and maybe a special creeper skin. And I still gotta chase down a few of the default terrain textures. Some of the splash particles could use some upgrades too. Once I'm happy that the newer version is a substantial improvement over the current hodgepodge, I'll release it. Probably in a few weeks.
I only have one question about this beautiful texture back, when I go to install the shaders in .minecraft there aren't any shaders folders anywhere, I am a noob. what am i doing wrong?
For my the folder is atleast called as "bid". Just dl the hd installer thing, the texture pack and that all rdy done thing thats linked in text. Put the stuf linked in text to the bid folder, then have the texture pack as packed into texture pack folder.
ok i patched using the hd "thing" and still no folder, should i just make a folder in .minecraft called "bid"?? and throw those two shader files in there?

Curse PremiumWhat does this mean??? I'm so confused...

But I do have to critique your installation instructions, they were confusing to follow. Also
are the trees correct?
Finally am I supposed to unzip the .rar and replace it with the new images?
2. I tried using one of the backups but that did not work.
Anyone else have this prob?
Thanks

Oh.my.god. That is the funniest thing I have seen in the past 3 months. I started laughing hysterically and crying at the same time.
