Though people probably already figured that out or have forgotten about it by now.
The pack is now open for reproductive use. You may freely take any content from this and use it, so long as you make some form of linking to me and the original author, Sodio. I'd also appreciate a message to me, and definitely a post here, telling where to find the new pack.
I might return to the minecraft community at some point, though that remains to be seen. If I do however, it will be as a modder, I have no plans to continue this should I return.
Sorry I didn't deliver for you guys on this. I hope someone somewhere has kept it going or made a better version. Have fun mining.
And uhh, sorry I didn't get around to officially doing this earlier. I only really was reminded I left it on permanent hiatus when a modpack came to my attention I decided to try.

WELCOME:
Welcome to my Monster Hunter Theme. Based off the Monster Hunter game series.
Please take note that this is a theme, and currently does not edit the terrain.png file.
Monster Hunter has a very beautiful and diverse world with no set "texture" for any one type of terrain found in the game, and as such it is very hard to make a terrain that accurately reflects the game. I am sorry but for now, and the forseeable future, you will need to copy another packs terrain file into this packs .zip file before use if you want non default terrain textures.
UPDATE:
1.3 The GUI update.
1.3 will be droped in multiple parts as it is completed.
Changes in 1.3.1: 1.8 Release
This version of the pack should be 1.8 compatible, if for some reason it is not, please leave a reply letting me know what isn't working.
Added poision health bar
Added stamina bar
Added poisioned stamina bar
Added connection bars
Added experience bar(looks like sharpness bar)
Changed porkchop(both kinds)
Added new meats (cooked/uncooked - beef/chicken, zombie meat)
Added Endermen orb
Added melon
Added pumpkin/melon seeds
Added the 3 bow charge levels
Added a slight change to the fishing rod
The coming versions of 1.3 are planned as to include the furnace and crafting table GUIs(giving me trouble in editing, so they will take longer to put in) Look for the next version of 1.3 in the future.
KNOWN ISSUES:
The poison stamina bar has gaps in it, im currently testing this and trying to figure out what is causing these gaps, it will be fixed when I manage to find out why its happening.

I have officially abandoned this work now. It is free to use so long as you make it known the work comes from me and Sodio, preferably by link in the crediting to my page here.
i'd say have custom weapons/armors that look like those from the games (the swords in particular bug me, the icon fits for the inventory, but it looks kinda 'meh' when in use), and a texture pack to go with this--it'd round this off beautifully, especially since this is a 64x pack.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Don't mind me, I just pop up from time to time with helpful/annoying advice.
I'm going to come here every so often to tell you some things.
1. The health bar is kind of odd. Only make it the green bar. And when you get down to low life, the whole bar shake. It looks very strange.
2. The Shovel and Hoe are odd looking too and don't really match the rest of the texture pack.
Well, that's all I really can get from 10 minutes. Other than that, thanks for picking this back up.
Great work.
Wow guys, glad to see all the feedback and support. Im going to try to address all the posts I can here:

Simple, but very nice interface.
Thank you, but I cant take all the credit of course, a majority of what is currently here was done by Sodio before he stopped work on it. However I did change a number of the prexisting icons that I didn’t quite like, and added item icons for beds and repeaters to make it good to go for 1.3.

Looks interesting. Though I suppose a native resolution version isn't possible is it?
Sadly I don’t think it will work in native 16x16. The icons need a good bit of detail to even be discernable as being from Monster Hunter. I could try a 32x32 but id much rather keep working on this resolution to finish earlier.

You have made me a happy man!! Thank you so much for firstly picking this up and finishing it, but also messaging everyone who commented on that thread! I totally forgot about this. Subscribing!
(Edit: Please make the chickens mini Kut Ku's, you know you want to! :wink.gif: )
I had decided to send out the PMs since view your posts and search was down to help spread the word on this. Also I plan on doing some mobs soon as they will be much quicker to do than the terrain file, so ill figure out what mobs will be what soon.

checked out the texture pack: great work so far.

I get where your coming from. I might look into making a secondary download of an option pack where swords look like ingame swords. I can't make any promises on doing this as I dont know how this will go in the future, but ill try to keep it in mind as I keep working.

Alright, I was actualy planning on adressing some of this already to be honest. The health bar was never edited from Sodio's and I understamd how the shake could get annoying. However I think the shake is built into the game and Im not sure how to fix it, but ill try to look into it. The shovel was also copied from Sodio's work, and im not sure what to replace it with as there is no shovel icon in monster hunter. I may make my own soon that fits the look of the pack. The hoe was copied from a model of a felyne weapon and scaled down to 64x64 and I know it looks very strange, but it falls in the same issue as the shovel. Ill work on both of those icons the next time I sit down with some time to work on it.
Thanks again to all of you for your support. Im open to any feedback or ideas for the pack. Im looking into making mobs soon so any ideas on that would be great.
Looks good so far. I look forward to seeing what's done with the world textures, as I can't really think of how they'd be done to look Monster Hunter styled.
I do have a few suggestions:
[*:2rhgm4rb]Perhaps the Tri air meter could be used. The little jars looked kinda odd to me.
[*:2rhgm4rb]Not sure how it would look in use, but there is a torch icon from Tri.
[*:2rhgm4rb]The bait icon should be able to work for the fishing rod.
The icons look like they overlap the squares a bit, if you could, fixing that would be a good idea.
Also, custom fonts would definitely make it look nicer.
Other than that, it looks great! Everything is very clean and smooth.
I hadnt even payed enough atention to see that overlap, the only thing changed in this version from what I picked up from Sodio is the items.png. Ill have to go see about a gui overhaul to see if I can fix that, if not I may have to rework all the items that have overlap to be smaller.
Anyway while I was checking that, I realized the armors werent anywhere near uniform in placement, so I tried to fix that and it looks mostly uniform now, so that will be fixed next update as well (once I have enough chages to validate making one.)

Yeah, like you, I cant think of how to make the textures Monster Hunter style, so I guess im gona sit down with some screenshots and do my best, about the only thing I have an idea for that is really monster hunter feel is replicating the look of the ore spots.
Im going to look into changing the air bar soon. I dont think the torch icon would work, the icon for torches is a copy of their terrain file image, so unless you want the icon hanging on your wall im not going to do that. And I might look at the fishing rod, but as nothings considerably wrong about it, its low on my list of priorities to work on.
Also im gona do a minor status update here: Ive been busy since I first posted this pack, so not much else work has been done since then. Im starting work on some fixes and changes soon. Im moslty in an idea searching phase right now, trying to decide what to do for all of the textures and mobs, so suggestions are welcome.
Im gona try to push out the changes im making sometime in the next week or two which, if I get it all done, should mark the end of changes to the gui so that I can begin work on mobs.
UPDATED
Updated the pack to work with 1.4
Changes in this version:
A few minor changes(i.e. realigned some of the armor icons to be centered)
Added the cookie icon.
Sorry for the lack of any significant changes in this update. Ive been rather busy lately, and I just had to rush this out with the new cookie icon to work with 1.4. I plan on making more changes pretty soon, so be on the lookout for that.
Can you make the pack in 16 x 16, I know it would be bad but I can't run the 64 x 64, I doubt I can even run a 32 x 32, and if the icons don't work, just make them very simple, nothing fancy needed. And cows should be apanoth. And creepers should be cats with L Bombs

By the way guys, don't ask this guy to make the cows look different or to make the creepers look like cats, this is just a simple texture packs. There is this guy Orni, and he is making a Monster Hunter Mod pack. It's going to have new armor, weapons, and monsters in it. Check my banner for it.

Making it less than 64x64 is going to lower the quality of it. So it's better if it stays as it is.
Get a patch for MineCraft or don't use it.
