I have no idea where this should go, so if its in the wrong place I'm sorry.
So I downloaded this texture pack: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=97561
and the instructions said stuff about opening up a minecraft bin folder and deleting stuff. So I looked around in my file for a few hours but couldn't find anything besides a folder that says minecraft-server and in it is executable jar file, a text document, and windows batch file. (I'm using windows, the newest version I believe)
So since I could find the files they were talking about I figured I didn't have them and installed the pack in minecraft. Now all I get is black screen. All I really want to do is get rid of the texture pack so I can play mine craft again, but I don't know how to do that. Can someone please help?
In order to get minecraft to work again, you need to do a clean install (ironically, what the texture pack wanted in the first place)
Find your bin folder in %appdata%/.minecraft and just delete the whole thing. Run minecraft.exe again and it should do a reinstall.
Your problem is that you have tried running a texture over 32x in a non-patched version of minecraft.
You can ignore that nonsense about deleting the /bin folder as you only need to do that if you have been patching your game with mods and the like. (Since you don't even know where the folder is, I think it's safe to assume you haven't)
Now to fix you game:
Since you are on windows, click on the start button, then run
Then type %appdata%\.minecraft
This will get you your minecraft folder, inside that will be several other folders including the /bin folder you were looking for.
Delete the options.txt file or edit it and change the line specifying the skin to read:
skin:Default
This will reset you to using the default texture and you game should run again.
To get that texture pack to work without crashing the game, you need to run the HD patcher on it.
