I've got a question here. I have two really good texture packs that I want to put together. There are things I like more from each pack better than some other things in the other so I wanted to put them together, replace files from one with files from another, so on and so on. I simply tried replacing some things in one of the packs with some things from another but it didn't work, it black screened after I logged in. What I want to know is if there is a way to do this and if there is, how can I go about doing it.
There's one other thing too. I want to combine the item.png and some of the terrain.png stuff too, the larger image files that have the textures for blocks and items I mean. Can anyone help me out?
It's not super hard, first off, are you just using regular 16x16 texture packs? if so, it's even easier. All you have to do is drag and replace the thing you want together and compress the contents into a zip file. For the terrain.png and items.png just use a picture editing program. I use gimp, just because it's easy and free.
