Are you like me? Do you love the default textures, but simply cannot play without high resolution textures? If you are, then this is the absolute perfect texture pack for you. If you aren't, then this texture pack still is probably a better option than most.
Why am I so confident about this you ask? The concept of this pack is simple. I take the original textures, and make them four times as detailed, or in other words, change them from 16X to 64X. The result is the exact same look of the classic minecraft, only much, much, much more clean, detailed, and generally better in every way. If your a fan of the originals, then the only reason you really shouldn't use this pack is if your a fan of 16X textures, or 32X textures, in which case, check out Faithful's 32X32 pack.
This pack wasn't exactly the most challenging task in the world to make. It did take skill and lots of time, but Vattic's work with the faithful pack seriously helped me out alot. Instead of editing the original textures to 32 and then 64, I could simply do a 1 step edit strait to 64X. I did all these textures by hand, and by that I mean I didn't just use some sort of 'filter' as some have suggested. Some of these textures have taken up to 5 hours to make individually.
That being said, I need much more support. I have thousands of view and only around 50 comments. Your guy's feedback and suggestions is the only thing that makes the top mods and texture packs what they are today, so don't just not comment because you think this is some sort of un-succesful texture pack due to low comments. Sorry to sound pushy by the way, I just thought I should speak my mind on this issue.
Anyway, heres some screenshots of the actual pack. Bear in mind this is still a work in progress:
To the left is my pack, to the right is vattics 32X32 pack, and at the bottom is the default textures. See the difference?
Screenies:
And Finally, the download. Again, tell me what you think.

Pics or it didn't happen. On that note: A pointless bump won't really do you any good just because you haven't really done anything..
I have one block done, it would be pointless to post that. Tommoow I'll have something to show. Pics or it didn't happen does not apply to this.
It's understandable no one would be excited if there where no pics though. It probably was pointless for me to start this so soon, considering I have no visual evidence of the pack. I'll show pics tomorrow, even if I just it's just cobblestone and planks.
I feel like you need to make the images less repetitive, unless that is your images are like 8 by 8 blocks...but yeah
It sort of ruins the HD feel by making the textures within each block so monotonous...I understand it is a WIP though and good on ya for taking the initiative! I love the 64 texture packs.
Care to explain a little bit more? If your referring to the four completed blocks, all they are is the default version of themselves packed into a texture 16 times. So I can see how that would seem repetitive. I am trying to simply make this a 64X64 version of the original minecraft, but I know I will have to make some artistic changes, so what do you think I can do with those textures to make them seem less 'repetitive'?
It looks like you are just taking the default textures and tiling them...
Yeah if you read around the thread you would know why. The only textures that will stay like that are sand and gravel. But if you didn't notice, there was also a smooth shaded cobble texture. What I'm doing right now is changing the stone from its tiled state to more a texture that has similar depth to the cobble one.
Ok guys, big update. I hope its beginning to be more clear as to what this texture pack is actually about. Please read the updated first post and help me accordingly!
I've been waiting forever for something like this to come out. I've been using the faithful 32x32 pack for a bit. I want higher rez textures but i still want to see what a majority of non texture users want me to see in their builds. If everyone runs a different pack then no one really gets what they are supposed to see in each others builds. Cant wait for this, i will definatly try it out once its ready for download.
I may not be able to get the download ready tonight, but I will show you the terrain.png. Note some blocks are still 32X32. And as you can tell, some blocks are from Misas pack.Ignore this, this will be removed when the download is out (tommorow)
