The pack has been released with a new thread. If you're looking for the Zlean pack look here. If you're not looking for Zlean, check out this thread anyway.

More nice things :smile.gif: I guess its hard to give feedback with the little I showed you. I'm working on more textures now. I'm thinking of putting out a really early pack, and letting you guys play with it, then you can give me some focused feedback. Would anyone be interested in that?

Nice looking so far. I made one like this, simple and smooth. Called it the Smooth Design Pack. I think the reason I like this one is because it reminds me of ShortStuf7's Clean Design Pack. It might remind me of that pack maybe a bit too much. Perhaps take a look at that one and stay cautious as you don't want the two textures to look too similar as people may start pointing fingers.
Either way, looking like a great WIP so far!
Thanks. Your pack looks good, its juts a little too smooth for me. The reason it looks like ShortStuf7's is I've being playing with his pack for weeks now. It was that pack that motivated me to make my own. I love his, there's just some stuff I'd like to do differently. The similarities are mostly in the dirt and grass. Damn him for having such good grass! I plan on crediting him if/when I ever release this.

I hate to bump like this, but I need help. How should I do the ores? All the same pattern, or change it up for each ore? Any ideas on shapes for the ores?

I like the look of your core-environment textures. I'd say that the ores should all be set into smooth stone, with the same look/layout, but just different colours to differentiate the ore-types. I feel like that is super important for a clean/simple pack.
Currently, I use Painterly as my TP, but I've used, and loved, a bunch of the Clean/Simple packs. The texture packs with my favourite ore types are, in decreasing order of preference:

Thanks. I have decided to set them into smooth stone, anything else wouldn't really make sense :tongue.gif: I still don't know about how to draw the ores... I used Clean Design for a long time. The ores have always bothered me on it though. I don't know, maybe I'm just being picky. All that's left on the terrain are the ores, nether-stuff, doors, tnt and plants. Damn plants! After I've got the terrain.png done, I will be releasing the pack.
Edit:
Spent some time running around with a bunch of different texture packs, hoping for some inspiration for the ores. Now all I can think about is ShortStuf7's damn perfect little squares!

This looks strangely very familiar to Shortystuf7's Clean texture pack
It's ShortStuf7's Clean Design if you want to find it. I've already admitted it looks like the dirt looks like his a fair bit. I've also said that his pack is amazing and as I used it for a fair bit of time, similarities are bound to work there way in. I plan on crediting him, when I release the pack, for any similarities in my pack.

You should actually make leaves transparent a bit in this pack, shorty's are too thick and spongy for my taste D:

The things I say in my posts should be taken seriously, but not offensively.

There are transparent bits in the leaves currently. Too much more and they start to look silly. Like them?

I'll try it out and post screenshots. Thanks for the feed back. It's really nice to have some kind of goal to aim for when I'm working on this.
I tried, but I still like the original better. Removing the edges, doesn't really add much. The body of the tree feels the same and the edges are just more awkward..

This is good, but the community isnt going to like because its "Clean" lol. Still, you will have an audience :smile.gif:
People don't complain because it's "clean". The problem is most "clean" packs look exactly the same, just like those 256 "realistic" packs.
Very very true. I've tried to stay away from what I like to call the "clean pitfalls". Do you think this pack has the same problem?
It does a little.
At first glance it's very hard to tell the difference between this, the Clean design, or Frenden's packs.
Luckily this can be fixed just by changing a few things around, or even trying out new colors. For example the little grey specks in the soil could be another color. Like green to match the grass. Or yellow.
Or having grass on the side of blocks go down alot farther.

I know, and I think with the other blocks I'm getting a way from it. It's the basic blocks that remind me (and others) of their packs. I've brought the grass down, but its only a bit. I've never really liked 2/3 or full grass blocks sides. I can't really see changing the grey as those are rocks. I'm playing around with some stuff. Thanks for the suggestions, like I said, they really help.

It kind of reminds me of Frendan's cartoon pack, come to think of it.
