im officially confused to the max. what the hell is going on with the texture packs these days?
ive been searching around for ages, but im stumped about wtf is with the 32x32 and 128x128 crazy **** ... AND the HD Fixer or whatever that is ... this **** is way more complicated. someone please explain wtf is going on here.
"DERP! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE HD TEXTURE PACKS DERP!"
That's what I got, anyone else agree?
32x32 and up (64 & 128) require a High Definition patcher because Minecraft's default textures are 16x16, meaning the block images you see and 16 pixels by 16 pixels. Technically 32px packs can still work without a patch, but will not have custom water and lava, but that's besides the point.
Minecraft will not properly recognise 32x32 and up textures so you have to use the HD patch in order for them to work. The HD patcher modifies the .jar file which then allows the higher resolution textures and custom water/lava.
There is a tutorial in the HD Pacther thread here, Link. The HD patcher is available for both PC and MAc and their respective tutorials on how to install and use it. That **** as you say is not complicated at all.

Nice description. Because the thread will totaly go off-topic because it is the 100th thread about HD textures, i have another question: Why are HD textures not being implemented by default? Will this come in final version with implemented mod functionality, too?
We can all dream so. Imagine a future were you are playing Minecraft normaly with a 256 texture pack or a 32/64/128/16 with every texture custom(lava and water too) without having to use any external fan made program. Or a mix of texture from each pixel range.

I share your dream, man! One day...one day! :smile.gif:

ahh ... i get it now, sorry i posted so much swearing, i dont even remember it ... thanks guys, really helps. no sarcasm intended. really. but if a texture pack did require 64x64 or something like that, surely he'd say it right?
The only problem we really have is: WE DONT HAVE GOD DAMN UNIQUE TEXTUREPACKS ANYMORE, EVERYTHING IS GOD DAMN CLEAN - SIMPLE - OR FULL OF STUPID DIFFERENT SIZED RECTANGLES, AND THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME
Not really...have you looked? There's a bunch of different packs. Just a ton more of similar quickly made, simple 16x packs.

hrrrm...mine isn't anywhere close to simple or clean...how about the other photo realism packs? or Dante80's new off the wall space age pack? or Bordercraft? someone doesn't pay much attention. no unique non simple and clean carbon copies my ass >.>
I agree. I have found that Misa's pack is a very good choice - it is absolutely beautiful, very lifelike and doesn't impact performance on my machine. IMO, it should be the default appearance for the game.

A simple tutorial, with my voice guiding your troubled mind to beautiful High Detailed textures.
