Sheep, what I meant by diamonds was the diamonds you get from mining diamond ore. They look white and therefor they don't match the tools so it looks kinda awkward. If it's not too much trouble, could you change them to a blue-ish color? Everything else looks pretty good. BTW, are the armor icons finished? They all look like iron armor...
Also, when you upload your pack to the minecraft texture pack customizer can you include textures from previous versions of your pack? I really liked some of your old textures.
Sheep, I have a question.
Would you mind if I downloaded this pack AGAIN, edit it, BUT NOT redistribute?
Because there are some small things I want changed, but I don't want to bother you.
You are allowed to make Private edits of texturepacks.

Yea sure, you can do that to any pack without permission unless you release it as your own pack or upload it in any way. Then you need the artists permission. :tongue.gif:

Ohhhh yea, I thought I did have em blue but I might've forgotten... Anyway, I'll have them blue soon because I'm going to release a quick update with the cow, proper water flowing colours and fixes to a few bugs that I found with the latest release. :smile.gif:
As for the customiser, that is the plan. You can actually look in the alternates.png right now because it has almost all of my old files and you can just copy and paste them into the normal pack.
Oh Sheep, by the way, I was thinking about editing your default (Or vivid) pack to make a new style of sheep pack (Possibly ornate or something to that style) would you like to see it if I do make it?
I love the sound of that! Ornate.... Mmmmmmmm....
But yea, go for it! I actually really do like the sound of it! :tongue.gif:
Hmmmm...I am really not cut out to make textures as good as your's! but hey, you could make ornate as another flavour?
Well it would be a lot of work but just mentioning 'ornate' has given me a whole BUNCH of ideas and there are a few techniques for making textures that I just figured out and really want to test....
I think I'll have a go and if I like the way it's turning out then I'll continue with it and make it my last (probably) variant!
It was a yellow flower at first...but then I changed the colour because I always seem to make my yellows either orange or green :L If you want the .png I could give it to you?
I made a new yellow flower (not that good...darned yellow!):
-snip-
I havn't done a "with grass" edit. This is rather fun ;P
Looks a tonne better than mine :tongue.gif:
I'm not really that great at flowers... saplings are fine, grass is fine, flowers just seem impossible to get right!
Ok, cow just needs a tad more fur detail and then it's done!
I think I might change it's eyes a bit too though because it's far too cute at the moment...
Oh, and I also changed the fantasy grass texture a bit.
Cow = Awesome. Glad you're back Sheep!
I also only just noticed that the grass from the fantasy variant is probably the best grass I've ever seen for a 16x16 pack!
Do you mean the grass that you can currently use or the one I showed with the cow :tongue.gif:
I'm still keeping the old one so as soon as I get the customiser set up then people can still use it if they want.
Thanks though PhanTango, glad you like the cow!
photos of my hand-made cobblestone and slightly altered wood in action! (with flowers aswell!)
-snip-
just a simple colour comparison image :smile.gif:
Should I carry on making alternate textures Sheep?
Maybe you should even consider making it your own pack! You have been making some nice textures, I'm sure people would like it! :biggrin.gif:
But yes, I do like what you've been making, keep up the good work!
;O i love your texture pack, You actually inspired me to make my own texture pack (which im currently working on), you have any tips in making textures for a paint.net user? =3 EDIT: i love it imnumberfour and i think you should continue it!
Thanks, glad you like it!
Look forwards to seeing your pack too! L(
As for tips, one would be to make the textures detailed without the help of the noise tool and then if you still want to use the noise tool, just use it a small amount once the texture has been completed to help make it look a bit more worn down.
If it looks good without noise then that's a success! :biggrin.gif:
i love this texture pack! i honestly don't use texture packs but this one is an exception because its style blends very well and doesn't take away from the default minecraft feel.
-oh, i have downloaded and used all your variants, you should make a fallout/wasteland style one plz n__n
OK that seems good. The diamonds from your pack during and before Beta 1.5 (or maybe it was 1.4) were amazing. Sadly, I can't use Gimp or Paint on my computer so I can't really exchange alternate textures. Also, what about armor? They are different because of little patches of color but they still all look like iron armor. I'm kind of a nit-picker when it comes to texture packs so of course I would complain about this. :wink.gif: Everything else in your texture pack is GODLIKE. Keep up the good work!! :biggrin.gif:
I don't think I'll be able to make my own pack with those textures, seeing as they are based off yours! :L But I might start to make one from scratch...
I think you should! The very latest wood you made looks awesome!

Thanks! That's a good suggestion too... *thinks*
I might make one after the ornate one... It would probably be the easiest one to make as well because I could just get normal textures from one of my other variants and make them run down and semi destroyed. :smile.gif:
Epic wood is epic! :biggrin.gif:
It reminds me of the first style of wood I had for the fantasy pack, that sort of small log type.... Works really well on cabins in the forest!

Yea, I fixed up the diamonds and they'll be in the quick update today with the cow and matching water flow colours :tongue.gif:
Thanks for picking that up!
As for the armours, they are actually from the eld pack at the moment because I really couldn't stand the default ones. I plan to do armours soon, but not until I finish the mobs. If you want me to do the armour first then vote for it in the poll! I'll do whatever gets most votes for the next major update!
I know this'll sound lazy as hell (but this is due to problems with paint.
Can you add the katana swords from your Nagareu pack to the Fantasy pack? I loved the look of them x]
But do continue! I'm using the packs for my videos when I get to recording my screen!
Well when I get the customizer up then I'll throw them in there as a choice because.... why the hell not!??
Everybody loves katanas, right????...... Right??? :biggrin.gif:
Sheep, I REALLY love your texture pack, mostly because the artwork is brilliant!
I was wondering though, any words of wisdom for a novice trying to make a texture pack with Paint.net? I've tried a couple times to make a stone texture, but that just winds up looking a bit... off.
lol, Pig and Cow dance party!
A bit too artificial, or bi chromatic, if you know what I mean. :sad.gif:
Please. Help. Me.
Just checkin in. Don't get much time to browse a ton these days. I got the latest version of this pack to run around with tonight. Maybe even....PLAY!
:biggrin.gif:
Hiya Gestank! :biggrin.gif:
It's ok, you still pop in now and again which is more than most anyway! God forbid you're actually going to play minecraft as well!

But To you for such a great pack!
I'm glad you like the pack!
Well my first bit of advice would be too get rid of those faint lines you can see on the border of each of the blocks, it makes it really easy to tell where each block starts and ends. (which we don't want :tongue.gif:)
Next you might want to make the cracks in the rock a little less jarring, maybe try adding a shade of grey that's brighter than the cracks but darker than the rest of the stone next to the cracks. That should help make them a little less jarring. Either that or you could make the cracks themselves a little lighter!
It's not really good advice but it is actually pretty hard to give advice to someone making a pack... I usually take a look at how other people make their textures and what techniques they used when making them. Other than that it's just practice and time! :smile.gif:
EDIT: Just looked again and your cracks are white instead of black, my mistake! Try making them darker than the surrounding stone, might look a bit better!

Curse PremiumI am very partial to that rose! It looks lovely :biggrin.gif:
Although I might tweak a few things to see if it would look better as the yellow flowers first.

What do you guys think? Too cute? :tongue.gif:
