It did suck, but I've made good progress since then :smile.gif:
I'm also feeling the need to do some mobbing and armouring now! (bout time!)
It'll help sharpen my skills for mob texturing (they're pretty bad at the moment :tongue.gif:)
I could personally say it is worth it, if you can get it cheap anyway, you get like %80 off if your a student.
But if you are good/content with using GIMP, then buying it could be a waste. :]
If you're not using the latest development version of Gimp you should try it (here). The new single window mode adds a lot of comfort if you don't have a dual screen and the new layer groups feature is undispensable to me, I have like 200 layers on my terrain gimp file, don't know about you. :smile.gif:
The only thing I really miss from Photoshop is the ability to change the color / brightness / etc. of multiple layers at once.

Thanks for that link Ovo!
Is why I got frustrated and stopped using GIMP as much...too many windows and not smart programming. I use PS, Fireworks, and now may give GIMP a go s'more.

Hmmmm, not sure if I should save up and buy it, or buy new games coming out such as skyrim and battlefield 3... :tongue.gif:

Awesome! Thanks a heap Ovo, the fact that there were multiple windows was probably the most annoying thing about gimp for me. This just made it a whole lot better! I might have to drop paint.net entirely :biggrin.gif:

Yea, that was definitely the most annoying thing about it. I had to use paint.net purely because the multi-window thing annoyed me so damn much!
I use Paint.net Nice and simple, and gets the job done. I mainly use it because GIMP and Photoshop look insanely confusing to me, but then again, so did PDN when I first got it, so I might try giving GIMP another go. Btw, hows the water coming along?
Yea, paint.net is incredibly user friendly. I have gotten used to using gimp though, and it's extra features make it worthwhile to use and to get to know it! :smile.gif:
Well if there is a massive update to minecraft on that day (due to that day being it's official release date) then I'll have to take a break to support my pack, but after that.... :biggrin.gif:
Alright everyone, I've almost finished the new water animation. I'm adding sparkle effects, making it a bit smoother and then I just need to change the colours to match each variant!
I think I might post the png files here so you guys can try them out for me too.

Curse PremiumThank yeh kindly!
True, it is rather expensive! Although then it might not have crashed...
It was worth it, right?
I really want photoshop! I might borrow my friend's for a bit. :biggrin.gif:
Awesome! :biggrin.gif:
I hope your friends like it too!

Beware the bugs though. I haven't had any crashes yet but Gimp 2.7.2 is really unpolished.

Curse PremiumIt's kinda depressing when you think about it :tongue.gif:
